Banners, in general, do not fare well in high winds. They become very similar to sails and catch wind very easily. It is recommended that they be temporarily taken down in the event of a storm. For banners being installed in open areas or high off the ground, we recommend using mesh banners since they allow for air to pass through.
No, the banners do not come supplied with poles and we do not offer them for sale as an add-on. You can visit your local hardware store and purchase poles or rods made from PVC, metal or wood. We recommend cutting them a couple inches short of the overall width of the banner so you do not see them sticking out the sides.
No, the pole pockets are attached on the back side and should not interfere with your design. That being said, we still recommend keeping an important information at least a few inches from any edge to be safe.
Image quality is part art, part science. Generally, low resolution website pictures look terrible on signs. Web pages need to load quickly, so people visiting a page don't leave the organization's website. If high definition pictures are on the page, the page will load slowly. Thus, nearly every internet picture you find on a storefront or news page is low definition. It might look good at 2' x 2', but will look terrible at 12' tall. Before uploading a picture, zoom in. Is it grainy? Does the edge look crisp? If not sure, email us the image, let us know how big you want it, and we will let you know if it will look good enough to be persuasive. Sometimes, for a small fee, we can use commercial software to improve the quality. Files that are 100 kilobytes (kb) or less, even up to 1000 kb, are often too low quality to use on all but the smallest signs or decals.
Google Images has the ability to display only high definition pictures- play with the settings. However, that does not mean you are legally allowed to use the image. Make sure before you use it. Often, people are honored to have someone use their picture, and say yes, if you ask nicely.
Modern camera phones take excellent images if you choose the highest quality setting. Likewise, tablets can take great pictures, usable for signage products.

From ink to substrate, vinyl to foam, t-shirts to standees, we use

for 1 year outdoors, and often lasts 2 years plus. Foam board signs are
meant to be displayed indoors, and are guaranteed to last at least 3
months. T-shirts can be washed a minimum of 20 times. By using name
brand inks, vinyls, and substrates only (3M, HP, Epson, POP Plus,
Oracal, Palight PVC, Magnum Brand magnetics, etc), you can buy with
confidence knowing we stand behind your purchase every single time.
Professionals use premium materials. We are professionals.
Available Colors for printing depends upon the printing method you
choose. Silk Screen signs and decals have standard colors that do not
incur any additional fees. If you desire a specific silk screen color,
called a PMS color, we advise you call in to discuss your job. We have
color matching experts. There will be an additional charge, to hand mix
ink colors, for this service. This is the only way to guarantee Brand
Guidelines and Specific colors are achieved. If the product you choose
is digitally printed, we can likewise print with calibrated equipment to
achieve specific CMYK values. Again, a phone call is recommended.
There are many theories about this subject, but here are a few rules of thumb to follow when choosing your banner size. A common rule of thumb for optimal viewing distance is 1” of letter height for every 10 feet of viewing distance. For example, if you have 8” letters, the maximum optimal viewing distance is 80 feet. However, your text is legible from beyond this distance. Typically, it can be viewed up to 3 times the optimal distance. For our previous example, those same 8” letters are technically legible from 240 feet. This distance will vary based on many factors including but not limited to environment, person viewing, letter style, color, lighting, etc.
If you keep your message simple, clear and easy to read, you are likely to get the best results. We are available to give advice if you need it. Just be ready to answer some basic questions like viewing distance, etc. We are here to help you make the most of your purchase!
Since we are based in Tampa, Florida, we know from experience that the sun’s UV rays can take their toll on printed ink. Even with direct sun exposure, our banners can easily last for 2-3 years, even longer if not in direct sunlight. If your banner is hung inside, it will last for many years.
Grommets are metal punched eyelets that allow you to hang your banner at multiple points. Grommets are used with our standard 13oz vinyl banner material. Power tabs are used in the same way but they are made of a thin, clear plastic and have a hole punched in them to allow you to hang your banner. Because we do not hem our 18oz vinyl banner material, the thin plastic tabs are stuck to both sides of the banner and add a similar reinforcement as the hem.
Although we can print just about any size banner, here is a list of our most common sizes:
2’x4’, 3’x5’, 3’x6’, 4’x6’, 4’x8’, 5’x10’, 8’x8’, 8’x10’.
Pole pockets are a fold, typically on the top or bottom of a banner that allows for a pole or rod to be inserted inside it. The pole pockets are not sealed, they are open ended on both sides, which allows you to easily remove the poles whenever you like. A great example of when to use pole pockets is for a Hollywood-style step & repeat backdrop banner for an event. The pole pockets allow for easy mounting on an optional step & repeat banner stand.
Yes, we can print on both sides of our 18oz banner. It is considered a blockout material so light does not pass through which makes it perfect for double sided prints.
Our 18oz vinyl banner is perfect for when a two sided banner is needed.
Our standard vinyl banners are printed on 13oz material, hemmed with double sided tape and finished with nickel grommets every 2’-3’. Your banner can be customized in many ways including adding pole pockets, additional grommets, and wind slits. Our 18oz double sided banners do not get a hem and our step and repeat banners come with pole pockets standard.
