Raspberry Pi Technology is supports many hardware for projects and research, example for CCTV project. All this time, CCTV works record will overload storage, due to big size recorded video files. One of the solution to this problem is to make system only record at necessary time. The example of the “necessary time” is when someone enter the room. Because of that, surveillance system which can detect motion in the room is needed.
In this research, mentioned problem was tried to be solved by design and build a mini computer (Raspberry Pi) based room surveillance system. This surveillance system is made with Motion program. Motion program handle motion detection and streaming. Besides that, system also made so it can send notification via email, when motion is detected. For security and back up data reasons, system will also upload recorded video to Dropbox. System consists of one server and one client that are connected using WLAN network.
The resulting system would have the ability to detect motion, the system is also capable of storing images and video when motion is detected. In addition, this system also has other features such as email alerts, scheduled database backup, and the ease of access via WIFI and internet

Rapid point-of-care measurement of anticoagulation has become feasible with the advent of new portable devices and offers the potential for home monitoring. This study evaluates the accuracy and feasibility of such a point-of-care device, the ProTime analyser as compared with standard laboratory method (IL MCL2) for monitoring the International Normalised Ratio (INR) level in cardiac patients on oral anticoagulation therapy. Fifty patients were studied. The majority were male (86% versus 14%). Chinese accounted for 37(74%) whereas Malay and Indian, constituted 9(18%) and 4(8%) respectively. The mean age was 55 +/- 12 years. Prosthetic heart valve replacement (46%) and atrial fibrillation (38%) were among the main indications for anticoagulation. To evaluate the validity of the Apnea Risk Evaluation System (ARES) Unicorder, a self-applied, limited-channel portable monitoring device for the evaluation of sleep disordered breathing (SDB). Increasingly home health agencies are using home-based technologies to monitor vital signs of chronically ill patients. Patients receive measurements such as blood pressure and weight that indicate risks to their health. Cognitive reactions to risk measures have been studied for face-to-face delivery; however, it is unknown whether the same reactions exist with technology delivery. Reported in this article are study results of a comparative content expert analysis of reactions to technology-delivered health-risk measures. Results suggest that patients have the similar reactions but may be more likely to just accept, without evaluating or considering threats to their health. As home telemonitoring applications continue to evolve, care must be taken avoid creating passive patients and develop best practices that use technology to encourage beneficial self-care behaviors.

Smart home technology nowadays became more popular and wide spread world around. The communication network's appropriate coverage, flexibility and low cost made the Wi-Fi technology one of the strongest choices in this field. The main purpose of this paper is to propose a simple, flexible and low cost design of controlling home appliances and connecting other hardware using Wi-Fi network. The ability of exploiting this design and implementation in different environment and possibility of integration with other modern technology are considered the main benefit of the proposed design. Modern gas sensor technology is becoming an important part of our lives. It has been applied within the home (monitoring CO levels from boilers), the workplace (e.g., checking levels of toxic gases) to healthcare (monitoring gases in hospitals). However, historically the high price of gas sensors has limited market penetration to niche applications, such as safety in mines or petrochemical plants. The high price may be attributed to several different components: (1) cost of a predominantly manual manufacturing process; (2) need for interface circuitry in the form of discrete components on a PCB; and (3) fireproof packaging, making the cost of gas detection instruments typically many hundreds of dollars. Consequently, there has been a considerable effort over the past 20 years, towards the goal of low-cost ($1-$5) gas sensors, employing modern microelectronics technology to manufacture both the sensing element and the signal conditioning circuitry on a single silicon chip. In this paper, we review the emerging field of CMOS gas sensors and focus upon the integration of two main gas-sensing principles, namely, resistive and electrochemical and associated circuitry by CMOS technology. We believe that the combination of CMOS technology with more recent MEMS processing is now mature enough to deliver the exacting demands required to make low-power, low-cost smart gas sensors in high volume and this should result in a new generation of CMOS gas sensors. These new integrated, mass-produced gas sensors could open up mass markets and affect our everyday lives through application in cars, cell phones, watches, etc.

In this study we present a multipurpose health care telemedicine system, which can be used for emergency or patient monitoring cases. Ambulances, Rural Health Centers (RHC) or other remote health location. Ships navigating in wide seas and airplanes in flight are common examples of possible emergency sites, while critical care telemetry and telemedicine home follow-ups are important issues of patient monitoring. The telemedicine system is a combined real-time and store and forward facility that consists of a base unit and a telemedicine (mobile) unit. The telemedicine unit (patient site) allows the transmission of vital biosignals (3-12 lead ECG, SPO2, NIBP, IBP, Temp) and still images of the patient from the incident place to the base unit (consultation site). The transmission is performed through GSM, Satellite links or POTS. Using this device a specialist doctor can telematically "move" to the patient site and instruct medical personnel when handling a patient. The consultation site is equipped with a multimedia database able to store and manage the data collected by the system. The system was validated in four different countries using a standardized medical protocol.

Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is a multidimensional and multidisciplinary methodology, whose aim is to prioritize different concurrent technologies in order to support decision making in healthcare systems.
