Ethnolinguistic

An attempt has been made to reveal ethnocultural peculiarities of the lexemes-components god and devil representing the national Ukrainian and French mentalities. The semantic and stylistic correlates and antonymic connections of the analysed lexemes have been found in both languages. The dialectological sources have been involved in the analysis to illustrate ethno-meanings.

Сделана попытка выявить этнокультурные особенности лексем-компонентов бог и черт, являющиеся репрезентантами национального украинского и французского мировоззрения. Найдены смысловые, стилистические соответствия и антонимические связи проанализированных лексем. В анализе задействованы диалектологические источники для иллюстрации этносмыслов.

Streszczenie


Do tej pory koncepcja kulturemów nie była wykorzystywana w pracach, w których badano polski materiał gwarowy. Dialektolodzy zainteresowani leksyką przede wszystkim gromadzili jej zasoby w postaci słowników, tekstów gwarowych i atlasów, z kolei etnolingwiści (zwłaszcza wywodzący się ze szkoły lubelskiej Jerzego Bartmińskiego) zajmowali się językowym obrazem świata utrwalonym w materiale gwarowym. Tak też była opisywana gwara podhalańska. Na podstawie dotychczasowych prac dialektologicznych i etnolingwistycznych nie można jednak odpowiedzieć na następujące pytanie – które słowa (i kryjące się za nimi pojęcia) są szczególnie istotne dla kultury ludowej Podhala? Rozstrzygnięcie tego zagadnienia znajdziemy w niniejszej monografii.
Koncepcja kulturemu była wykorzystywana w przekładoznawstwie, badaniach stylistycznych oraz w etnolingwistyce. W ostatnim z ujęć (reprezentuje je Alicja Nagórko) kulturem jest najbliższy słowom kluczom Anny Wierzbickiej. Kulturemy można więc uznać za ważne dla samoidentyfikacji jakiejś społeczności słowa klucze.
Do typowania kulturemów wykorzystano badania ankietowe, a także analizę tekstów drukowanych i wypowiedzi Górali. Ważną rolę odegrała intuicja badacza. W konsekwencji wydzielono 34 kulturemy. Można przyjąć, że zrozumienie tych właśnie jednostek jest kluczem do zrozumienia kultury podhalańskiej.
Ponieważ kulturemy grupują się w kręgi tematyczne, zostało to odzwierciedlone w kompozycji pracy. W rozdziale Swoi i obcy, który opiera się na uniwersalnej opozycji opisywanej m.in. przez Wiaczesława W. Iwanowa i Władimira N. Toporowa, znalazły się: Góral, gazda, baca, juhas, zbójnik, ksiondz, pán i ceper.
Kolejny rozdział – Wartości zawiera bezpośrednie odniesienia do góralskiego systemu aksjonormatywnego. Ponieważ wyróżniamy (m.in. za Jadwigą Puzyniną) wartości pozytywne i negatywne, ten rozdział został podzielony na dwie części. W pierwszej – Wartości pozytywne znalazły się: Pámbócek, Pániezus, Gaździná Podhála, krzýz, śleboda, honór, robota, ziym i dudki. Do Wartości negatywnych zaliczono biydę i głód.
Ważną grupą kulturemów są jednostki określające tożsamość kulturową. W odniesieniu do Podhala są to: gwara, muzýka, śpiywanie, tániec, ubranie, portki, ciupaga, moskál, oscypek, gorzáłka i owca. Kulturemy składają się również na geografię mentalną, dlatego w monografii omówiono: Podhále, góry, Giewont i hále.
Do opisu kulturemów wykorzystano z pewnymi modyfikacjami definicję kognitywną zaproponowaną przez J. Bartmińskiego, która z powodzeniem została zastosowana m.in. w Słowniku stereotypów i symboli ludowych. Kompletny opis kulturemu obejmuje: 1) etymologię (dotyczy to przede wszystkim jednostek dyferencyjnych); 2) zasięg geograficzny; 3) relacje synonimii/bliskoznaczności i/lub hiperonimii – hiponimii; 4) charakterystykę znaczenia na podstawie słowników gwarowych; 5) derywaty słowotwórcze; 6) zestawienia; 7) kolokacje; 8) odniesienia we frazematyce; 9) odniesienia w folklorze słownym (pieśni, podania, legendy, bajki itd.); 10) odniesienia w literaturze regionalnej (przede wszystkim w pisanej poezji góralskiej); 11) odniesienia w wierzeniach, obrzędach i zwyczajach (wiedza przyjęzykowa); 12) relacje Górali na temat definiowanego przedmiotu uzyskane podczas badań terenowych.
Omówiony w monografii zestaw kulturemów jest niejednolity. Warto dodać, ze jest to zbiór otwarty, który może być poszerzony o kolejne jednostki. Wspólne dla kulturemów jest nastawienie wartościujące oraz patriarchalne (widoczne zwłaszcza w rozdziale Swoi i obcy, w którym wszystkie jednostki są nazwami mężczyzn), a także przynależność do autostereotypu. Kulturemy podhalańskie służą m.in. samoidentyfikacji Górali, realizując (podobnie jak stereotyp) funkcje: psychiczną (ułatwiają myślenie i mówienie o świecie), społeczną (integrują Górali) i poznawczą (przekazują potoczną konceptualizację).
Co nowego do badań etnolingwistycznych wnosi monografia o kulturemach podhalańskich? Przede wszystkim otwiera perspektywę nowych badań. Pożyteczne byłoby zestawienie kulturemów podhalańskich z kulturemami (ogólno)polskimi lub dotyczącymi innych regionów, np. Śląska lub Kaszub. Z pewnością ujawniłoby to podobieństwa i różnice w obrębie szeroko pojętej kultury polskiej, jednak nie na płaszczyźnie zwyczajów lub obrzędów (to już zostało zestawione w pracach etnograficznych) albo słownictwa (służą temu słowniki, a także prace z zakresu historii leksyki), lecz tożsamości. Badania takie można uznać za jeden z celów etnolingwistyki.

Summary

Dialectologists interested in lexis gathered their resources in the form of dictionaries, subdialect texts and atlases, while ethnolinguists dealt with linguistic picture of the world as present in subdialect material. And in such a way was the Podhale subdialect described. However, these works fail to answer the following question – which words are particularly important for Podhale Gorals (highlanders)? It is a question of ethnolinguistics (to be exact – of ethnosemantics), and the answer is contained in the present monography.
The concept of a cultureme has been used in translation studies, stylistics, and ethnolinguistics. In the last conceptualization (represented by Alicja Nagórko) a cul- tureme is closest to Anna Wierzbicka’s key words. Culturemes might be identified as key words important for a community’s self-awareness.
Surveys, analyses of printed texts and Gorals’ utterances were used to identify Podhale culturemes. The researcher’s intuition played an important role. As a result, 34 culturemes were determined. Understanding these units is a key to understanding Podhale culture.
Since culturemes group into thematic circles, the work’s composition mirrors this division. In the Swoi i obcy chapter, which is based on the universal opposition described, among others, by Vyacheslav V. Ivanov and Vladimir N. Toporov, words górál, gazda, baca, juhas, zbójnik, ksiondz, pán and ceper found their place.
The next chapter – Wartości contatins direct references to the Goral axiologi- cal system. Because we distinguish (after Jadwiga Puzynina, among others) positive and negative values, this chapter was divided in two parts. The first – Wartości pozytywne contains words Pámbócek, Pániezus, Gaździná Podhála, krzýz, śleboda, honór, robota, ziym and dudki. Biyda and głód are found in Wartości negatywne. An important group of culturemes contains units defining cultural identity. In relation to Podhale they are: gwara, muzýka, śpiywanie, tániec, ubranie, portki, ciupaga, moskál, oscypek, gorzáłka i owca. Culturemes also comprise mental geography, for which reason the monography discusses: Podhále, góry, Giewont and hále.
Slightly modified cognitive definition proposed by Jerzy Bartminski was used to describe culturemes, which was successfully applied, among others, in Słownik stereotypów i symboli ludowych. The complete description of a cultureme contains:
1) etymology (mainly in differential units); 2) geographic range; 3) relations of synonymy/cognates/hyperonymy/hyponymy; 4) meaning based on dictionaries of subdialect; 5) word formation derivatives; 6) juxtapositions; 7) collocations; 8) ref- erences in phrasematics; 9) references in oral folklore (songs, stories, legends, fair- ytales etc.); 10) references in regional literature (mainly in written Goral poetry); 11) references in beliefs, rituals and customs (paralinguistic knowledge); 13) Gorals’ statements about the defined object gathered during field research.
The set of culturemes discussed in the monography is not uniform. It is worth noting that it is an open set, possible to expand by adding additional units. What culturemes share is evaluation and patriarchy (especially in the chapter Swoi i obcy where all units are of male gender), and also affiliation with autostereotype. Podhale culturemes serve, among others, for Gorals’ autoidentification, by perform- ing (similarly to stereotype) functions: mental (they simplify thinking and talking about the world), social (they integrate Gorals) and cognitive (they share common conceptualization).
What new does Podhale culturemes monography introduce to ethnolinguistic studies? Above all, it opens perspectives for new research. Particularly interesting would be juxtaposing Podhale culturemes and Polish culturemes or culturemes from other regions, for example Silesia or Kashuby. It would certainly reveal similarities and differences among the widely understood Polish culture, however not the custom or ritual level (it has been shown in ethnographic works) or on lexis level (this is the purpose of dictionaries and history of lexis works), but identity. Such research may be considered as one of the aims of ethnolinguistics.

Partiendo de una concepción amplia de la fraseología y de una perspectiva etnolingüística, el análisis se centra en fraseologismos españoles (especialmente, paremias) para los cuales puede establecerse un origen latino o una motivación en el mundo grecorromano, analizando contrastivamente las particularidades culturales de dichas unidades fraseológicas y sus correspondientes precedentes clásicos. Temáticamente, el corpus se ha limitado a ítems lingüísticos que giran en torno a la concepción clásica de ‘amistad’, entendida como el armónico motor de las relaciones humanas y sociales. La mayor amplitud semántica de este concepto crucial de la filosofía antigua implica que en el trabajo se aborden, aparte del tema de la amistad propiamente dicha, otros temas derivados de éste, tales como el amor, la familia y las relaciones cívicas entre ciudadanos. Además de las relaciones diacrónicas entre los más de 10.000 ítems analizados, la perspectiva de estudio se centra en la parcialidad de la visión de la realidad presentada por éstos, en particular en el sesgo cultural y social que suponen las consideraciones que encierran, presentando como universales apreciaciones que, en realidad, son parciales e interesadas como consecuencia de las relaciones de poder que enturbian las relaciones humanas que se estudian.

La lengua aonekko 'a'ien (literalmente "lengua sureña"), también conocida como tehuelche, forma parte de la familia lingüística chon, la cual está compuesta por las lenguas de los pueblos cazadores-recolectores pedestres más australes de Sudamérica (Lehmann-Nitsche 1913, Suárez 1988 [1970]). Junto con el extinguido teushen, forma la rama continental de esta familia lingüística, diferenciada de la rama insular compuesta por las lenguas selknam y haush de Tierra del Fuego. El aonekko 'a'ien se habló en la parte meridional de la Patagonia continental argentina y chilena (principalmente en territorio perteneciente a las actuales provincias argentinas de Santa Cruz y Chubut, con expansiones hasta el sur de la provincia de Buenos Aires durante el siglo XVIII). La última hablante falleció a principios del año 2019. A diferencia de las lenguas hermanas haush y selknam, el aonekko 'a'ien posee (y poseía ya en el siglo XIX) un sistema numeral decimal, lo que parece ser poco frecuente en lenguas de pueblos estrictamente cazadores-recolectores (Epps et al. 2012). El propósito del presente trabajo es comparar el sistema registrado en los últimos años por la lingüista Ana Fernández Garay (1998) con el que fuera documentado a mediados del siglo XIX por el misionero Theophilus Schmid (1912a y 1912b). Los numerales de ambos cronolectos muestran ciertas diferencias, que permiten esbozar la evolución del sistema durante el último siglo y medio 2 .

В монографии выявляются повторяющиеся у разных исполнительниц в разных по адресату оплакивания текстах элементы и детали предметного мира похоронных и поминальных плачей. При всей импровизационности жанра, изобразительные элементы мифопоэтики находят  устойчивое в этнопоэтической традиции словесное выражение. Повторяющиеся элементы текстуры образуют этнопоэтические константы, которые при выявлении и систематизации отнесены к сферам: изображение гроба и надмогильных сооружений как жилища покойного; ландшафт, элементы интерьера и фантастические обитатели загробного мира с их устойчивыми признаками и функциями; орнитологическая символика, фигуративные уподобления судьбы и переживаний утраты Эго погодным явлениям и растительности.

The Candles of the Tuonela: Verbal descripiptivity of the Karelian-Finnish Laments over Dead.

There in the study stereotypic elements of the lament fictive world are revealed, appealing in diverse laments by different female wailers, who address different relatives and family members in the ritual situation. Although a great content of improvisation is typical of the lament genre, descriptive elements of the mythic poetics represent verbal stereotypes. Repeated elements of the texture constitute ethnopoetic constants, that are revealed and arranged according to thematic spheres, such as the description of the coffin and the grave as the apartment of the deceased, the Other world with its landscape and interior and fantastic inhabitants with their constant features and roles; ornithological symbolic, decorative metaphors for the destiny and deprivation of the Ego, referring to weather and flora.

El objetivo del presente trabajo es mostrar la existencia de algunos elementos léxicos -y al menos uno gramatical- caraterísticos de la variedad ranquel de la lengua mapudungun, que son (o parecen ser) de orig
en norteño, provenientes del quichua santiagueño o -en algunos casos- del castellano hablado en el Noroeste argentino. Se plantean tres hipótesis sobre el posible origen de tales elementos.

This paper considers the role of Malay language loyalty and loss in South Thailand. The ethnographic material presented is based on the author’s ten years living and working among bilingual urban Malays, and a year making regular visits to rural communities in Narathiwat. One of the few things that informed analysts of South Thailand agree on is that a range of factors contributed to the resumption of violence in 2004. In addition to the role of political legitimacy, there is consensus that progress towards peace is complicated by the involvement of uncivil constituencies from two highly ethnicised religious communities. Despite the importance of ethnoreligious issues this paper argues that ethnolinguistic dynamics⎯specifically language loyalty, loss, and angst⎯have much to contribute to the return of peaceful co-existence and reconciliation. Although religious freedom in Thailand is promised and present, few minority languages in Thailand are strong now than they were before policies promulgated in the 1930s. I introduce the range of positions on the role of language and multi-lingualism in the construction of difference and the achievement of peaceful co-existence. I describe the range mono-lingual and bilingual communities in South Thailand. I also recount the variety of ways that Southern Malays have responded to the decline of Malay and the importance of Thai for those wishing to engage in Thai modernity. There is a need to as informed by ethno-linguistic angst as ethno-religious rebellion.

Аннотация. Целью статьи является определение принципов лексикографирования в «Русско-польском словаре лексических параллелей». Главным критерием отбора слов является учебно-методическая целесооб-разность и учет потребностей пользователей. Значения располагаются с учетом актуальности данного значения слова для современной живой русской речи. Словарная статья построена следующим образом: заголо-вочное слово русского языка с его польскими коррелятами; грамматическая характеристика; толкование; переводной эквивалент; стилистические пометы; иллюстративные словосочетания. Толкования вырабатываются с помощью толковых и двуязычных словарей современного русского и польского языков, электронных корпусов, а также на основании собственной языковой интуиции авторов словаря. В словаре отражение находят неполные, полные и ложные лексические параллели. Ключевые слова: лексикографирование, русско-польский словарь, лексические параллели, словарная статья, дефиниции.

Abstract. The purpose of this paper is to determine principles of lexicographical description in “The Russian-Polish dictionary of lexical parallels”. The main criterion for the selection of words is an educational and methodological practicability and needs of users. The meanings are being located, taking into consideration the relevance of the word meaning for modern living Russian speech. The dictionary entry is structured as follows: the Russian entry with its Polish correlates; grammatical characteristics; definition; translation equivalents; stylistic labels; illustrative
phrases. Definitions are being developed based on monolingual and bilingual dictionaries of modern Russian and Polish languages, electronic corpuses, as well as on the basis of own linguistic intuition of the dictionary’s authors. The dictionary encompasses partial, full and false lexical parallels.

Resumen
Este artículo se interesa en la realización de adivinanzas como evento de habla al que se inician los niños desde antes de los 5 años en dos comunidades campesinas del departamento de Cuzco; Surimana (provincia de Canas) y Ccachin (provincia de Calca). Estas adivinanzas forman parte de un repertorio común compartido por todos los niños de la comunidad. Sin embargo, cada niño puede enriquecer este repertorio por la creación personal. El término quechua utilizado para referirse a las adivinanzas es watuchi. Este vocablo deriva del verbo watu- «adivinar» o «presentir». El aprendizaje de las adivinanzas forma parte de un conjunto de prácticas semióticas más amplio que aprenden los niños desde la primera infancia. Se consideran también la correlación entre los juegos verbales, el desarrollo de las capacidades cognitivas y la socialización de los niños.

Представленная статья  рассматривает особенности вербализации бинарной оппозиции «Свой-Чужой» в британском варианте английского языка на основании узуса этнонимов, используемых для номинации ирландцев и шотландцев. Компонент оппозиции «Свой» представлен такими нейтральными этнонимами, как Scot(s), Scotsman, Scotswoman, Scottish (people) и Scotch. Особое внимание уделяется дерогативно маркированным этнонимам как основополагающим языковым единицам, репрезентующих компонент «Чужой».
ABSTRACT
The given article features verbalization of the binary opposition “Friend-or-Foe” in British English on the base of usage of ethnonyms applied for nomination of the Irish and Scottish. The component “Friend” is presented by such neutral ethnonyms as Scot(s), Scotsman, Scotswoman, Scottish (people) and Scotch. Particular attention is paid to the derogatory marked ethnonyms as fundamental linguistic units that represent the component “Foe”.

Language has many definitions, and is viewed as an important medium of communication. It is also considered a unique human trait. However, a review of many theories of communication shows that language is probably not as critical to communication as is generally believed. For example, the work of the Ethnolinguists and the Semiologists only helps to highlight the improbability of effective communication. Even the Mathematical Theory demonstrates that the more distorted a message, the more informative it appears to be. Research also shows that we might even be predisposed by our genders to view realities in different ways. Further, the study of Kinesics reveals that there exists a range of patterned body motion behaviour, limited to a particular culture, which might account for a phenomenal 93% of the meaning that is generated in any interaction. Therefore, an accurate use of language (if there were such a thing) cannot by itself ensure communication effectiveness. What is needed is ...

В статье рассматриваются фольклорные и мифологические образы как сада в целом, так и отдельных садовых растений на материале фольклорных произведений различных славянских народов, а также этнографических описаний обрядов. В традиционной культуре и мифопоэтическом
сознании славян сад занимает промежуточное место между освоенным,
культурным и чужим, природным пространством, входя, таким образом,
в оппозиции сад/лес и сад/дом. Как фольклорный локус это прежде всего местонахождение птиц и девушек. На ветхозаветном образе рая базируется представление о саде-рае. Однако, будучи соотнесенным с раем, сад ассоциируется и с загробным миром. В лирических и свадебных песнях сад наделяется положительными коннотациями и связывается с жизнью девушки в родительском доме до замужества. На акциональном уровне свадебного ритуала невеста относит в сад свой венок или ленту.
В магических практиках славян сад является местом совершения ритуалов,
призванных обеспечить плодородие. В образах отдельных садовых деревьев преобладает женская символика. В первую очередь это объясняется грамматическим родом названий плодовых деревьев, а также их способностью к плодоношению.

On the basis of an introductory analysis of the intimate bond established between territory and the nation/nation-state, the author points out that the main instrument of this bonding is the naming of places in the national language. When writing about the past of an area, deciding to use this or that language to render place-names is not an innocent choice. This is especially true of the 19th and 20th centuries when nationalism became the only globally accepted ideology. Such a choice may amount to repossessing the past of a territory in the interest of this or that nation/nation-state.

Article ans les rituels du cycle familial, l'actualisation du thème de l'androgynie passe par le travestissement des personnages liminaux ou par une imitation de processus biologiques liés au sexe opposé (par exemple, imitation d'un accouchement par un homme). L'opposition entre des traits culturels (vêtements, fonctions) et le donné biologique (le sexe du sujet) crée un champ symbolique d'indétermination sexuelle, de présence simultanée de signes des deux sexes, donc une androgynie symbolique (cette particularité des personnages liminaux s'inscrit logiquement dans le faisceau de leurs caractéristiques rituelles, leur non-fonctionnalité corporelle et leur non-anthropomorphisme). 1 D Cet aspect de la culture ukrainienne a été peu étudié. The article discusses the testaments (published by Kazimierz Dobrowolski, Włościańskie roz-porządzenie ostatniej woli na Podhalu w XVII i XVIII w., Kraków 1933 and Janusz Łosowski, Testamenty chłopów polskich od drugiej połowy XVI do XVIII wieku, Lublin 2015) in per-spective of their usefulness in linguistics. It was shown that these texts could be used in an-throponymy and microtoponymy research, as well as variability in dialectal and regional lexis. To some extent, the discussed documents can also be the subject of ethnolinguistic research, because they reveal folk beliefs, superstitions and customs.

The article attempts to reconstruct the linguacultural image of the Polish rak 'crayfish' (Astacus astacus). Following the model adopted in the Dictionary of Folk Stereotypes and Symbols, the relevant data include the word's etymology, its lexicographic treatment (including phraseology) in dictionaries of contemporary Polish, in dialectal dictionaries and in dictionaries of former stages of Polish, texts of folklore, and ethnographic accounts. The following definition of the crayfish has been proposed accordingly: " The crayfish (rak) is a small, hairless and featherless animal of little value, its body being protected by a carapace. It has long antennae, two prehensile and sharp pincers that are used for protection, many legs, and eyes located in the back of the body. It lives in water (rivers and ponds), where it digs holes. It is unknown where it spends the winter. It can pinch, moves backwards in an ungainly and slow manner, makes no sound and kills its victims by biting into their bodies. It is closest to fish. Crayfish are sought for their meat, of which they have very little – they are roasted or boiled. Crayfish are considered exquisite food. Parts of the crayfish's body are used as medicine for various ailments. The crayfish is thought to be connected with the underworld " .

Summary. The paper focuses on the conceptions of ethnic bias and ethnocentrism, their interrelation with linguoculturology and grounds of the necessity of their close study together. Ethnic bias has urged new colloquial culture forming either positive or negative image for both a separate personality and an ethno-racial group in general.

A história de um povo contada a partir de sua própria voz, através de sua perspectiva, usando seu tempo e estrutura narrativa tem o poder de cativar o leitor e transportálo para um mundo diferente do dele. Assim, os relatos dos caxinauás, além de revelar traços ricos de sua cultura, língua e pensamento, convidam todos a conhecer o grupo, cuja população total se aproxima de oito mil pessoas, 75% delas em território brasileiro, e ocupa um vasto território na bacia dos rios Juruá e Purus, entre o Brasil e o Peru. A HISTÓRIA DOS CAXINAUÁS POR ELES MESMOS é apresentada nas línguas caxinauá, portuguesa e espanhola, conta com vasto material iconográfi co e retrata desde o modo de vida dos antepassados, até como se deu a dispersão do grupo e suas experiências em uma sociedade não indígena. Longe de ser um estudo frio e distante sobre um povo, a obra traz uma voz autêntica da comunidade caxinauá. Muito além do processo de documentação de sua língua e cultura, os relatos caxinauás propiciam um confronto entre diferentes perspectivas, sejam elas as visões analíticas de antropólogos, a curiosidade do leitor não indígena ou a própr ia interpretação dos caxinauás sobre sua noção de mundo.

Krzýz jako podhalański kulturem dotyczący religijności

Badania nad religijnością ludu polskiego początkowo dotyczyły przede wszystkim wierzeń przedchrześcijańskich (słowiańskich). Dopiero w artykule Stefana Czarnowskiego (Kultura religijna wiejskiego ludu polskiego, [w:] Dzieła, t. I, Warszawa 1956, s. 87–107, pierwsze wydanie miało miejsce w roku 1938) religijność specyficzny dla polskiej wsi została ujęta całościowo, synkretycznie, jako połączenie katolicyzmu z motywami ludowymi, które są nieuświadomioną kontynuacją dawniejszych wierzeń.
W niniejszym artykule została wykorzystana koncepcja kulturemów, którą na materiale polszczyzny ogólnej dotychczas rozwijali Jan Ożdżyński, Alicja Nagórko i Hanna Burkhardt. Po uwzględnieniu różnych danych językowych i kulturowych autor wskazał następujące podhalańskie kulturemy dotyczące religijności: KRZÝZ, PÁNBÓCEK, JEZUS (CHRYSTUS), MATKA BOSKÁ LUDŹMIERSKÁ i KSIONDZ. W artykule dokładniej został omówiony kulturem KRZÝZ. Uwzględniono aspekty językoznawczy (zwłaszcza polisemiczność tego hasła i produktywność frazeologiczną oraz zjawisko tabu językowego), folklorystyczny (obecność krzyża jako znaku apotropeicznego w tzw. modlitewkach ludowych oraz motyw Krzýza na Giewoncie w pieśniach i pisanej poezji podhalańskiej) oraz obrzędowy krzyża (używanie krzyża w funkcji apotropeicznej i jako sakramentale, a także włączenie tego symbolu do magii pasterskiej). Zwrócono też uwagę, że w podhalańskim kulturemie KRZÝZ scaliły się wierzenia słowiańskie z chrześcijańskimi, zwłaszcza w tzw. krzýzýku niespodzianym.

The aim of the paper is to present a multiaspectual analysis of culture specifics in Polish phraseology. The theoretical introduction contains a brief presentation of cultural character of phraseology and related phenomena within the scope of cultural phraseology. One type of culture specifics is constituents of units, such as names of material culture phenomena or proper names. The meaning expressed by some phraseological units is unique to Polish and so is the evaluation conveyed by some idioms. Intertextuality and cultural scripts are also of great importance in the cultural analysis of Polish phraseological units. The analysis shows that many Polish phraseological units are not only carriers of meaning, but also of culture, which is of great importance in terms not only of theory of phraseology, but also in terms of practical applications, for instance, in bilingual phraseography, translation studies and teaching Polish as a foreign language.

Статья посвящена анализу понятий «традиция», «культура», «локальная традиция», «этнодиалект», описанию иерархии и смыслового наполнения этих понятий и их соотношению с признаковым полем «локальности», а также выяснению роли «локальностей» разного типа в формировании идентичности. Приведен сравнительный анализ этнолингвистических и этнодиалектных словарей, продемонстрированы их возможности при описании локальных традиций разного типа.

The article examines the concepts of «tradition», «culture», «local tradition», «ethnic dialect», and enquires into the hierarchy and semantic load of these concepts and their relation to the symbolic field of «locality», as well as into the role that «localities» of different kinds play in the shaping of identities. The author conducts a comparative analysis of ethnolinguistic dictionaries and dictionaries of ethnic dialects, and discusses the assets that they can provide for the study of local traditions of various types.

L'auteur, après une longue expérience de terrain et des séances d'apprentissage auprès d'un grand griot, propose un voyage au coeur de la société zarma et de ses pratiques discursives. Un voyage initiatique qui comprend plusieurs étapes, correspondant à des niveaux de connaissance différents : la parole, la mémoire, la tradition orale et les griots généalogistes.

Las caracterizaciones morfosintácticas, léxicas y semánticas que hasta hoy conocemos del palenquero proceden de estudios realizados sobre corpus orales (entrevistas y grabaciones). Frecuentemente, estos estudios dan cuenta de la influencia de lenguas centroafricanas en este criollo de base española. El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar, a nivel morfosintáctico, las herencias africanas en esta lengua afrohispánica basándonos en un corpus escrito: Memorias palenqueras, uno de los primeros y escasos relatos publicados en esta lengua. Comprobamos al final que el paso del lenguaje oral al escrito no altera la influencia sintáctica del sustrato africano en el palenquero.

The article falls into the category of ethnolinguistics research,. The subject of analysis is phraseology in the dialects of Orawa, Podhale and Spisz. The author tries to show how individual components of traditional regional folk culture have taken root in dialectal phrases and what we can say about regional folk culture on the basis of phrases. Dialectal phraseology also reflects cultural changes.

"This paper analyses the representations of the space through two narratives which relate the origin of Zarma, one people living today in the current Republic of Niger. Considered as narratives of ancestors by their official narrators, the jasare (a griot of history and genealogy), these two narratives speak mainly about space ; the space which Zarma occupie, cross, the spaces from where they come, where they die. That is why, unlike zarma tales, these narratives mention numerous place-names, recognizable for the greatest part. But the narrator does not stop in the geographical description of the space ; he completes it by the evocation of a social or / and physical space, which function is symbolic, and of a mythical space. Real space and mythical space eventually confuse to the point that the mythical seems real and the real mythical. Now all these representations of the space participate in the same purpose : the creation of a zarma identity and the legitimation of the occupation of the actual areas by Zarma.

Cet article propose une analyse des représentations de l'espace à travers deux récits d'origine des Zarma, un peuple vivant aujourd'hui à l'ouest de l'actuelle République du Niger. Qualifiés de récits d'ancêtres par leurs énonciateurs attitrés, les jasare (griot généalogiste et historien), ces deux récits parlent principalement d'espace ; l'espace que les Zarma occupent, parcourent, l'espace d'où ils viennent, celui où ils meurent. C'est pourquoi, au contraire des contes zarma, ces récits mentionnent de nombreux toponymes, identifiables pour la plupart. Mais le narrateur ne s'arrête pas à la description géographique de l'espace ; il la complète par l'évocation d'un espace social ou / et physique, dont la fonction est symbolique, et d'un espace mythique. Espace réel et espace mythique finissent par se confondre au point que le mythique apparaît réel et le réel mythique. Or toutes ces représentations de l'espace participent au même but : la création d'une identité zarma et la légitimation de l'occupation des régions actuelles par les Zarma."

Polska frazeologia gwaro nie została do tej pory całościowo opracowana. W artykule zwrócono szczególną uwagę na aspekt motywacyjny frazeologii. Zajęto się: 1) słowiańskimi wierzeniami, zwyczajami i legendami o ziemi (Zeby cie świyntá ziemia nie nosiyła; Zeby cie świyntá ziemia nie przijena; Świynty Toma siedzie w doma; Na świyntego Tomasa nie jedź chłopie do lasa; Na świyntego Toma siedź chłopie w doma), powietrzu ({ktoś} przepadnie jak inkluz; Wieje jakby się ktoś (diabeł) powiesił), wodzie (pije jak tynca; tynca pije na dwa kije, a na trzeci połyká; {ktoś} ceká jak kania dzdzu); 2) apokryficznymi legendami (Za świyntego Pietra grzysek cłek nazbiyrá grzibów miesek; {ktoś} trzynsie sie jak Pietrowá mać); 3) ludowymi obrzędami (zdrowy jak piniondz; We wilijom niek i wilcki se uzyjom; Sól świyntyj Agaty chroni przed ogniym chaty; Bazicki zwionzane z bicym poświyncane).

Polish dialectal phraseology has not been fully developed so far. The article focuses on the motivational aspect of phraseology, in particulary: 1) Slavic beliefs, customs and legends about the earth (Zeby cie świyntá ziemia nie nosiyła; Zeby cie świyntá ziemia nie przijena; Świynty Toma siedzie w doma; Na świyntego Tomasa nie jedź chłopie do lasa; Na świyntego Toma siedź chłopie w doma), the air ({ktoś} przepadnie jak inkluz; Wieje jakby się ktoś (diabeł) powiesił), water (drinks like plaster; he drinks plaster with two sticks, and swallowed on the third; {someone} chicks like a kania dzdzu); 2) apocryphal legends (Za świyntego Pietra grzysek cłek nazbiyrá grzibów miesek; {ktoś} trzynsie sie jak Pietrowá mać); 3) folk rituals (zdrowy jak piniondz; We wilijom niek i wilcki se uzyjom; Sól świyntyj Agaty chroni przed ogniym chaty; Bazicki zwionzane z bicym poświyncane).

В статье рассматривается новая этнолингвистическая концепция-культуремы, в том числе некоторые топонимы и антропонимы, принадлежа-щие к ней. Как выясняется, некоторые nomina propria имеют богатую коннота-цию и являются носителями информации, которые позволяют идентифициро-вать личность, отношение к традициям и ценностям, а также являются эле-ментами коллективной памяти. Таким образом, они являются культуремами. The article concerns a new ethnolinguistic concept-culturemes and including some toponyms and anthroponyms. As it turns out, some nomina propria have rich connotations and are carriers of information that allow us to identify identity, attitude to tradition and values, and are also elements of collective memory. Thus, they are culturemes.

В статье рассмотрены методы, применяемые для структурно-семантического и этнолингвистического анализа дерогативно маркированных этнонимов современного английского языка. Предложенная методология исследования базируется на социокультурном, структурно-семантическом и этнолингвистическом аспектах изучения языковых единиц на основании анализа теоретических трудов отечественных и зарубежных ученых, а также лексикографических источников.
The article describes the methods used for the structural-semantic and ethnolinguistic analysis of the derogatory marked ethnonyms of modern English, particularly American, British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand English. The proposed research methodology is based on the socio-cultural, structural-semantic and ethnolinguistic aspects of the study of language units based on the analysis of theoretical works of domestic and foreign scientists, as well as lexicographical sources.
