French Regulator Posts Newest Gambling Blacklist

This story was published more than 1 year ago.

France's gaming regulator L'Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ) has published its latest gambling blacklist, adding 532 urls to the list from some decent-sized casino operators.

The ANJ said that they have issued 152 different blocking orders, and there are 532 URLs from operators, which include the likes of VegasPlus, Campeonbet, Kahuna Casino, MyStake, CasinoExtra, Winmachance, Dublinbet, YBet, and WinUnique. The process of facilitating the blacklist has been improved by the regulator, and they said that investigation and blacklisting takes between one-to-two months instead of the four-to-six months that was the prior process.

During the process, the ANJ will reach out to the site and ask them to block access to the casino, and if those requests aren't complied with for five days they'll move to the ISPs for banning.

In a statement, the ANJ explained the blacklist, saying: "When a French consumer plays on an illegal website, it exposes you to multiple risks such as the unauthorised collection of personal data, payment fraud, installation of malicious computer programs, non-payment of winnings and the absence of measures to prevent excessive gambling and underage gambling. The ANJ also suggests that players report illegal gambling sites to the regulator."
