This story was published more than 1 year ago.

Gaming operator Betsson announced this week that it has gotten approval to launch its Betsafe brand in the Canadian province of Ontario and has begun offering services to customers in the province.

Betsafe will provide both sportsbetting and online casino games such as slots and table games to customers using the ot.betsafe domain. The site will use the Strive Gaming platform, which is also owned by Betsson. Those wishing to access the site must be physically located in the province of Ontario and 21 years of age or older.

News of the launch comes after Betsson said that they had their best year ever financially in 2022, with revenues jumping 18% from the year prior.

Commenting on the launch Betsafe CEO Pontus Lindwall said, "We are pleased to obtain the necessary licenses to operate with both a B2C and B2B offering in the locally regulated online gaming market in Ontario.

"We are convinced that there are great opportunities for Betsson in Ontario in both the B2C and B2B channels as we bring a highly competitive offering to the market."
