MGA to Issue NFT Regulations

This story was published more than 1 year ago.

This week the Malta Gaming Authority has announced that they're running a consultation on a new policy that would cover virtual assets like NFTs for gambling purposes.

The consultation will allow those in the industry to issue comment on the regulator's plans to issue rules on these areas. There will also be what the MGA is calling "Regulatory Workshops", that'll serve as an informal exchange of ideas regarding virtual tokens and Innovative Technology Arrangements.

The guidelines will be required to be followed by MGA betting operators that hold licenses in the country.

Regarding the consultation, the MGA said, "The ongoing consultation shall give the opportunity to such stakeholders to submit their feedback, if any, regarding the proposed policy."

No timetable for the integration of regulations was given by the regulator at press time. Casino Listings News will be updating readers as we learn more.
