Casino Midas Closes its Doors to UK customers

This story was published more than 9 years ago.

Internet betting site Casino Midas has announced that they have opted to close their doors to UK customers. The casino continued to accept wagers from UK players despite being unlicensed under new laws that came into effect on November 1, 2014, until a complaint was raised with the UK Gambling Commission and the site was forced to stop.

Casino Midas is licensed in Curacao, and does not hold a UK license. It announced that they had stopped taking wagers from UK players as of January 12, 2015. Customers who hold balances in their account are urged to contact [email protected] to have their funds withdrawn.

The recent changes in UK gambling laws require operators to obtain a UK gaming license and pay taxes if they offer betting services to British punters.
