Sideboard
Maybeboard

I have been refining this Xyris deck for years, and this is the version I have ended up with. The deck focuses on extreme consistency and resilience, while still maintaining a fast gameplan with plenty of interaction. The main source of ramp is playing extra lands which is fueled by a high land count and the symmetrical card draw that comes with the many howling mine effects. Once way ahead of the rest of the board, the deck wins with a board of snakes, a pump spell, and often a crytolith rite effect. I beg you to playtest it a few times to really realize how rarely a hand is unplayable. Unlike most Xyris decks, I don't run any wheels, since they make Xyris a huge target, since if he sticks around for one turn and I cast a wheel I more or less will win the game. Also, in my opinion, wheels are somewhat boring to play with as they disincentivize long term planning. I enjoy using engines such as howling mine much more as they create value before Xyris is in play, and stick around even if he doesn't. The side board are cards that I am not willing to spring for currently/want to trade for, and the maybeboard is cards I would include in my dreams.
