The Bank Job (2008)
Great watch
Wow when i picked this movie up on blu-ray i had no idea id definitely be getting my 30 bucks worth. What a great watch right from the beginning. This is by far the best heist film I've seen in along time and was better then "The Score", "The Italian Job", and "Oceans 11/12/13". The acting in this film in amazing. Jason Stratham still plays his usual character except with a lot more personality and story behind him. He also isn't kicking someones butt the entire movie and still is an amazing presence in this movie. When he finally does get violent at the end its completely justified. Kudos to the great supporting cast who was amazing and made the movie. Convincing as I've ever seen. The art-department did a amazing job re-creating early 70s London to the T. This movie wasn't filmed in Hollywood, it was a British film and one of the greatest most interesting heist stories ever told. Overall great directing, acting, sound and sets. Also Stratham shows us a lot more depth in his acting which i was waiting to see from him. Deserves many repeated viewings to catch it all. Impressive film.
Mother's Day (1980)
Should be praised as a work of B 80's Horror genius.
This was definitely ones of the finest horror exploration films to come out of the early 80's. It was made with a budget of about 150,000 and went on to influence many a horror film after. I had waited around 2 years to get my hands on this movie and am very excited i can now put it in my horror collection. The theme of the movie is extremely dark from the beginning. There's a lot of very dark humor through-out that you cant help chuckle at at least once. I think all the actors did a terrific job. The two hillbilly pervert rapist ex-Semper Fi sons play there parts extremely well. The mother is just crazy and creepy to watch but you cant help laugh at some of the dialogue they gave that women. All three of the girls do an excellent job showing sheer terror and are believable when they decide to fight back against the mother and her sons at the end. All and all definity worth a watch to any true fan of the horror and a great addition to your horror collection.
Stone Cold (1991)
Truly Stone Cold
This movie truly is awesome. Its fun all the way through. There's rarely a moment of downtime in the film. The action sequences and the acting is so over the top that it makes the movie work. The violence is high here with over the top crazy explosions. In a beginning scene a head biker shoots a cars door and the car explodes like a bomb went off under it. In another scene above the courthouse Bosworth jumps out of a helicopter, through a glass roof and onto a marble floor, a good 60 ft drop, he rolls out of it and kills a bad guy. Truly something not to be missed. Great over the top action. Kudos to Lance and William for playing such awesome bad bikers. They were the definition of scum and they played it beautifully. This movie is a early 90's action gem with an over the top "Commando" like feel. Great watch for any true action lover.
Sin City (2005)
True to its source.
SIN CITY is the definition of perfection. From someone who's read the entire series let me tell you no movie before this has ever come so close to its source material. The writer Frank Miller was there every step of the way during the production of this. Nothing was allowed to be in the film unless it had Millers approval. Rodriguez had to convince Frank Miller that the movie would be made true to the graphic novels the whole way. The casting in this is amazing. Everyone looks some what alike if not exactly alike their characters. You can read the graphic novels almost exactly along with the movie. Its like each picture came to life as you watch it. Its as hardcore and gritty as the books and never apologizes for anything. This movie turned me into a hardcore comic book fan. I've read all seven stories from Frank Millers SIN CITY now and can't wait for them to get going on a sequel. Rumor has it Miller is writing new stories to continue the films further, we'll see...

Black Christmas (2006)
People actually left the theater.
I definitely wasn't bored while watching this movie. It slowed down for only about 10-15minutes at the most. The body count was really high in this film. The story was really out there but I didn't goto see the movie for the story. A brother and sister couple come back to their old home where they had been raised and horribly abused killing everyone that now lives in their old home. Its now a sorority full of gorgeous young girls! The death scenes wern't original, but there was so many people killed throughout the movie that it really didn't matter. A lot of people got plastic bags over their heads and then got stabbed multiple times in the head/eyes/ears. I went knowing it was going to be a slasher flick. People walked out of the theater at one point in the film when it got alittle gruesome. The killer(s) at one point after killing his mother cuts skin off her back with cookie cutters, cooks them on a sheet-pan in the oven and then rabidly eats them breathing very heavily and spitting blood juice and saliva. The director gives you a close-up of his mouth as this is happening. Thats when people left the theater. The killers die twice in this movie. After they had been left for dead in the burning house they come back to life in the hospital and attempt to kill the remaining survivors.
All and all not a bad movie, but not even close to being spectacular.
