How To Clean Out A Shed the Easy Way - Friday Finds...

My Friday Finds are - well - come and see...

Loved this door...

...it went to this sweet shed...

...where everything inside was free!  Yippee!

Till I went inside.  Photo actually doesn't look bad.  But there were areas
that looked like mice nests... and it didn't smell good... and I just couldn't go in.
But hey - what a novel way to clean out your shed!

Here's what I did find...
There's a wedding in my very near future - so as I'm seeing stuff I'm getting it.
I just may have a need for some sheer panels... so was happy
to find fabric and some long curtains already made.
That 'to do' tablet is still in its original package -
great for my gift drawer...

These plastic figures are actually vintage cake decorations - a great find...

And loved the patina of these old shoe shine brushes.
Look at those bristles!

Twas a good little morning.  Just enough finds to make me smile!

And remember that shed clean-out trick.
Tomorrow is Saturday - a great day to try it out.  Ha!  ~Joyce

Going Batty & Lesson Learned - Friday Finds...

It was a fun morning out at yard sales.  This guy though was half
cute to me - and half scary!   ...picked him up anyway.
His body is all furry and fuzzy and I'm hoping somebody
out there will want him - as I don't plan to keep him!

Seems I've been finding dolls lately.  This Alice in Wonderland
set is a Mattel Kibbles item - complete with story book.
I'm thinking it was a pretty good find.

An overview of everything I picked up...  Looks like Christmas!
Feather tree ornaments, village houses, a rubber squeak Santa
and a few things for me.... like that $2 brand new candle...

And these blank kraft paper cards with the most awesome envelopes.
I'll have fun including these in gift baskets and such.

But my best 'find' from today was really a lesson of sorts.
I was struck by how friendly all the yard sale holders are to people
when they're there to shop.  Then I encountered a lady whose yard sales
I have been to several times.  But today she was just a shopper...
and interestingly - not quite so friendly.    It occurred to me that
we should treat everybody with the same courtesy and respect that
we do when we're trying to sell them something.  And as a Christ-
follower - I am selling something (or rather someOne) - whether
I'm conscience of it or not.  Was a sobering moment for me.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.
And give a 'seller's smile' to all you meet!  ~Joyce

Old Locker Basket - Local History for Friday Finds...

I think I found some fun stuff this week.
But my favorite by far is this old locker basket.   Turns out it is from
our local Hersheypark pool (amusement park) from back in the day.
I wish it was marked 'Hersheypark' - but knowing is good enough...

And this is the rest of my finds...
Those wooden child's hangers are available here.

Almost didn't get the brown transfer creamer because the bottom is rough.
But everybody loves brown and it is unique so I picked it up anyway.
 The purse is available here.

Some neat old boxes found their way to my basket...

 ... as did this guy.
I thought he was a shaker at first - and missing his partner.
But he's actually an actually an hor d'oeuvres holder.
The holes hold toothpicks for serving.

Cute huh?
Stay tuned to the shop where these will appear in the coming week.

My Pretty Friday Finds Include a Soap Haul...

Sometimes you just run across an amazing find.
Such was the case at my first yard sale stop today.

See all that soap?  For whatever reason - it was $2 for all
and included these fancy bars...

The cookie cutters were super cheap at another sale
as was the flannel pink roses blanket.

I was also smitten with a whole pile of Dawn dolls and outfits...

And treated myself to a lacy yellow maxi skirt for $2

The plaid camp blanket is from a previous week
that I never got around to showing you.

I find that finding 'finds' is one of life's greatest things. :)

Happy Friday Every one! ~Joyce

A Facebook Tip on Today's Friday Finds...

While I found a few 'things' this week...

...my favorite find was not a 'thing' at all!

Are you part of your local town's page on Facebook?
If not - you need to be!  Just search for your 'town, state' and see if
there's a page and join it!  I can't believe the world this has opened up...
things we never knew about right here on our community.

Case in point:
We have this pile of cement that we've been trying to unload...

On our town page someone mentioned needing a 'clean fill' place
and
I chimed in that we do too.  Immediately - someone responded.
And the best part?  The location was just 3 houses down the road.
Yes really!  Feels like a little miracle!  I'm also seeing people
find jobs from the page, learn about new restaurants,
churches and on and on.  It's been great.

Now back to my 'things' finds... it's a small pile this week.
The pillow is for our summer cottage ($1)
and the old fabric (actually curtains) will land on Etsy.
I love these sweet hankies.  At 10 cents each pack -
I'm happy to have them for my purse.

And I found plants!  At one yard sale today I praised a flower
growing in a lady's shaded bed.  She offered to dig some up for me!
I'm thrilled to have this hardy begonia to give 'style' to my back border...

Then at another sale - the oxalis (purple) was $1 and the
little plant (purple coneflower) was 50 cents.
Both are flowers that I don't have.

What a fun week this has been.
Now remember - go get on your community facebook page.
Would love to hear how it proves to be a blessing in your life -
cause I feel certain it will be!  ~Joyce

Some Local History, Garden Things and Great Friday Finds Haul...

I feel like I've been traveling far and wide lately to get goods -
and its not always been worth the jaunt.  Yesterday was one of those
'high mileage/low goods' days.  But I did pick up 4 old receipt tablets (right).
They are for a local business that no longer exists - so I inquired.

Turns out Grove's Meat Market was owned by the garage sale
lady's father.  I asked where it had been and she steered me in the
direction of this building - built in the 50s.  I pass this place often
and never knew it was once a meat market!
Love little tidbits like that.  They help make up for the mileage thing.

But today was a great haul day.  First - I found several really
cheaply priced garden things. These 4-packs of alyssum were 50 cents.
And a climbing bean plant - been wanting one of those - was 25 cents.
(She even put them in this nice basket for me - no charge!)

And perfect for that bean plant - this trellis was 50 cents!

And one more garden thing... a large planter for this corner of
my yard - also just 50 cents!

My vintage-goods haul looks like this and cost $29...

It includes a whole pile of 'L' monogram linens, some early button-
close shams and a lovely fringe edged candlewyck runner...

This composition Japan bobblehead caught my eye -
so I'll give it a whirl on Etsy and see what happens...

The chicken graphics cards are actually ink blotters.

I spent a little more than my norm to get 3 old ledgers -
in excellent condition with old script writing...

Some porcelain things (Noritake and Limoges), an old tin game board
and even some ruby glass & silver made it to my stash today.

I just love Fridays!  Thanks for following along ~Joyce

All For $6.35 - Friday Finds...

After weeks of rainy and cold yard sales - this morning was like
full blown summer!  I traveled 27 miles round trip and didn't feel I was
finding much.  But back at home - looking at it all again - I did just fine.

The tin crown mold has a great look.
But my super -thrifty 'me' find was this lot of hotel lotions.
I like these little samples to keep in my purse.  The whole pile was ten cents!
(And I rechecked with the lady - yep!... She just wanted rid of them.)

An overview of my finds - yes all for $6.35 - including that
soooo soft pink blanket underneath...

Have you priced Flea Market Style Magazine?  I love it - but oh my -
might as well buy a book!  Two magazines and a book for $1.
And that double handled rolling pin - turns out that was a good find!

Found a few Holiday things to tuck away.
The Claus couple are Japan salt & pepper shakers.
The box of new gift tags will probably go into my gift drawer.

Sweet crocheted hankies.
Not sure if I'll sell them or send them along as gifts with an Etsy order.

And not exciting to look at - some new lights at just 50 cents each.
There is a little clip light (sometimes I find myself needing one)
and a very small string of twinkle lights.

Because there are times I use small strings - such as here...
I stopped at many, many sales where I bought nothing...
But if it were too easy - that wouldn't be good either.

Next weekend I'm having a sale of my own.
If you're in our area - stay tuned for more info!   ~Joyce

My Friday Finds Will Make You An Artist...

My finds from today include some goodies from a thrift shop stop yesterday.
As usual - there are things for me and things for you (or at least the Etsy shop).

I have a bit of a magazine problem... I can't wait to delve into these.
Do you see that price?  Yep - it was for the whole stack!

I can usually sell dollhouse furniture... but have never sold
a miniatures kit before.  We'll see how it goes...

These candle holder lovelies have a bracket to mount on the wall.

Are you a flamingo fan?  And did you notice that
vintage embroidered bedspread underneath?

I seem to be able to sell butter pats.
So had to scoop these up since the price was right!

Vintage tapestry purses have also sold well for me... so was excited
for this find.  Especially when I learned that purses were half off.
Yippee!!!

And wanna be an artist?  Ever hear of a Pantograph?
What a fun tool for projects.  It enlarges the picture by tracing.

Now wonder if I can convince My Love to play Sequence with me
this weekend?  He's not a big game player - but I think this is one
we will actually enjoy (refer to top photo).

What fun things did you find this week?  ~Joyce
