- Els italnormands foren un grup ètnic d'origen normand establert al Regne de Sicília després de la conquesta normanda del sud d'Itàlia i Sicília. Tot mantenint alguns trets típics de la religiositat i l'estil militar dels seus avantpassats nòrdics, desenvoluparen una cultura pròpia, influïda significativament pel seu contacte amb poblacions romanes d'Orient, longobardes i musulmanes. Διατηρώντας μεγάλο μέρος της ευδιάκριτης νορμανδικής ευσέβειας και των εθίμων του πολέμου, διαμορφώθηκαν από την ποικιλία της Νότιας Ιταλίας, από τους πολιτισμούς και τα έθιμα των Ελλήνων, των Λομβαρδών και των Αράβων στη Σικελία. While maintaining much of their distinctly Norman piety and customs of war, they were shaped by the diversity of southern Italy, by the cultures and customs of the Greeks, Lombards, and Arabs in Sicily. - Con il termine siculo-normanni, talvolta alternato a italo-normanni, si indica la popolazione d'origine normanna nativa del Regno di Sicilia. A seguito della conquista normanna dell'Italia meridionale e della Sicilia, pur mantenendo alcuni tratti tipici della religiosità e dello stile militare dei loro avi nordici, i siculo-normanni svilupparono una loro distinta cultura, entrando in contatto con le preesistenti popolazioni di cultura bizantina, islamica e longobarda.
