- متحف دير الزور يعتبر أحد أكبر المتاحف في سوريا، لقد تم تصمم بناؤه لكي يستوعب الآثار المكتشفة في محافظة دير الزور. يضم المتحف خمسة أجنحة أساسية هي جناح أثار ما قبل التاريخ وجناح القديمة، وجناح الآثار الكلاسية، وجناح الآثار العربية الإسلامية، ثم جناح . وقد تم تزويد المتحف بالقطع الأثرية المكتشفة، مع لوحات بيانية وتعريفية. ويمتاز هذا المتحف بإعادة بناء بعض المواقع، مثل المنزل القديم في بقرص العائد إلى العصر الحجري الحديث، ومدخل من الألف الثالث ق.م وقاعة العرش في ماري، ومدخل الذي يعود إلى الألف الأول ق.م من تل عجاجة، ثم هيكل معبد بل في دورا من القرن الثاني الميلادي، ثم واجهة قصر الحير الشرقي من القرن الثامن الميلادي، ثم مشهد رؤساء العشائر في مقاهي دير الزور تصور الحياة الشعبية.و يصل عدد القطع الأثرية في المتحف إلى 21740 قطعة، بالإضافة إلى آثار محافظة دير الزور هناك قطع قادمة من محافظة الحسكة. - Das Museum von Deir ez-Zor (arabisch متحف دير الزور, DMG Matḥaf Dair az-Zaur) ist ein der Archäologie und Geschichte der al-Dschasira gewidmetes Museum. Es befindet sich in Deir ez-Zor, der Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Gouvernements in Syrien. Bei seiner Gründung 1974 wurde es in der Galerie einer Einkaufshalle untergebracht, 1983 zog es in ein 1930 gebautes Gerichtsgebäude um. 1996 konnte es in ein eigenes Gebäude verlegt werden, in welchem es sich bis heute befindet. Dieses Gebäude entstand in einem Syrisch-Deutschen Gemeinschaftsprojekt. In diesem Gebäude stehen rund 1600 m² Ausstellungsfläche zur Verfügung, die in mehreren Hallen um einen Hof arrangiert ist. Seine Sammlung, die mit 140 Objekten als Geschenk des Nationalmuseum Damaskus begann, besteht heute aus rund 25.000 Gegenständen, darunter die Mehrzahl der Tontafeln aus Mari. Hinzu kommen Funde aus dem oberen Habur-Dreieck von Tell Beydar, Tell Brak, Tell Leilan, Tell Mozan und Tell Schech Hamad. Aus dem südlich von Deir ez-Zor gelegenen Teil des Euphrattales stammen Funde der klassischen Antike aus der ehemaligen römischen Grenzstadt Dura Europos. Die Sammlung ist in fünf Themenbereiche gegliedert:

* Antikes Syrien (spätes Chalkolithikum bis 1. Jahrtausend v. Chr.)
* klassische Antike
* islamische Geschichte
* Ethnologie. Im Museum befinden sich einige Rekonstruktionen verschiedener Gebäude in angenommener Originalgröße, darunter ein Haus des PPNB-Fundortes von am Euphrat, das frühbronzezeitliche Stadttor von am Habur, die südliche Fassade des sog. „Palmenhofes“ aus dem Palast des Zimri-Lim in Mari sowie das Tor des ummayadischen Schlosses Qasr al-Heir al-Scharki aus dem 8. - The Deir ez-Zor Museum (Arabic: متحف دير الزور) is a museum devoted to the archaeology and history of northeastern Syria, an area more commonly known as the Jezirah, or Upper Mesopotamia. The museum is located in Deir ez-Zor, the capital of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, Syria. It was founded in 1974 and housed in a gallery of a shopping mall. Between 1983 and 1996, it was located in an old law court built in 1930. In 1996, the museum moved to its current location in a building that had been especially designed for the museum. The exhibition halls cover an area of 1,600 square metres (17,000 sq ft) and are arranged around a courtyard. The construction of the new museum was a joint Syrian–German operation. When the museum was founded in 1974, its collection consisted of only 140 objects, donated by the National Museum of Damascus and the National Museum of Aleppo. The current collection consists of some 25,000 objects, including the majority of the clay tablets found at Mari. The museum also holds many objects found by international teams of archaeologists at sites in the Upper Khabur area, such as Tell Beydar, Tell Brak, Tell Leilan and Tell Mozan. The Euphrates Valley southeast of Deir ez-Zor is represented with objects from the Classical site of Dura-Europos, which was once a border city of the Roman Empire. The collection is organized around five chronological themes: prehistory, ancient Syria (late fourth to first millennium BCE), the Classical period, the Islamic era and ethnography. It includes a number of life-size reconstructions of buildings from different periods, including a house from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B site of Bouqras in the Euphrates Valley, an Early Bronze Age city-gate from Tell Bderi on the Khabur River, the southern façade with wall paintings of the "Court of the Palms" of Zimri-Lim's palace in Mari and the gate of the Islamic Qasr al-Heer al-Sharqi. In 2015, the collection was allegedly removed from the museum by the Syrian Army in view of increased ISIS encroachments in Deir ez Zor. (en)
