Plovdiv Province (Bulgarie: Област Пловдив - Oblast Plovdiv, umwhile name Plovdiv okrug) is a province in central soothren Bulgarie. It comprises 18 municipalities (общини, obshtini, sing. община, obshtina) on a territory o 5,972.9 km²^[1] wi a tot population, as o December 2009, o 701,684 indwallers.^[2][3][4] The province is namit efter its admeenistrative an industrial centre - the ceety o Plovdiv.

It includes pairts o the Upper Thracie Plain, the Rhodopes, Sredna Gora, the Sub-Balkan valleys an Stara Planina, includin its heichest peak Botev (2, 376m). The main rivers in the province are Maritsa, Stryama, Pyasachnik. Thare are numerous dams, the maist important o which is Pyasachnik. Mineral springs are abundant, thare are several major spa resorts- Hisarya, Narechen, Banya an minor spas at Klisura, Asenovgrad, Kuklen, Rosino, Krasnovo, Stoletovo an ithers. Thare are mony naitural laundmerks, especially in the Central Balkan National Park, includin the spectacular watterfaw Raysko Praskalo, the heichest in the Balkans.

The Plovdiv province (Област, oblast) contains 18 municipalities^[5] (singular: община, obshtina - plural: Общини, obshtini). The economy o the province is o great importance. The agricultural production is intensive an efficient wi heich levels o irrigation. The major crops are fruit (aiples, ploums, peirs, cherries), grapes, melons an watermelons, vegetables (tomataes, peppers, carrots, cabbitch, potatoes), wheat, rice, baurley an others. The industry is verra well developed: ferrous metallurgy near Plovdiv; thriving electronics industry in Plovdiv, Saedinenie, Voivodinovo, Radinovo an ither villages in the aurie; agricultural machinery (tractors) in Karlovo, wappen an military plants in Sopot, Karlovo, Plovdiv; chemical industry in Plovdiv, Asenovgrad; fuid industry is developed awmaist awplace, maist notably in Plovdiv an Asenovgrad (wines).
