Abstract

The aim of the suspension system used in road vehicles is to maximize the friction between the tres and the road, thus increasing the driving stability to a compliant level and enabling perfect turning. The stabilizer which is a part of the front suspension system of road vehicles are exposed to torsion moment relative with the speed of the vehicle when the vehicle is passing through road bends. This moment is transferred to the bearing of the stabilizer. The invention subject to the application is related to a rubber beanng (3) that enables the stabilizers which are a part of the front suspension system of road vehicles to function without problem and to function for a longer life term. The stabilizer bearing (3) comprises an inner section made of polyamide material and an outer section made of special rubber material.

Description

DESCRIPTION
STABILIZER WITH RUBBER BEARING
Technical Field
The invention subject to the application is related to a rubber bearing that enables the stabilizers which are a part of the front suspension system of road vehicles to function without problem and to function for a longer life term.
State of the Art (Prior Art)
The aim of the suspension system used in road vehicles is to maximize the friction between the tires and the road, thus increasing the driving stability to a compliant level and enabling perfect turning.
The stabilizer which is a part of the front suspension system of road vehicles are exposed to torsion moment relative with the speed of the vehicle when the vehicle is passing through road bends. This moment is transferred to the bearing of the stabilizer.
Although the stabilizer bearings, which are usually produced from thermoplastic polyurethane, are resistant to torsion; as metal wears down, after a period of time a certain cavity is formed between the bearing and the stabilizer. This cavity prevents the proper lubrication of the stabilizer bearing. Improper lubrication leads to noise.
Brief description of the invention, and the aims of the invention
It is aimed by means of the stabilizer with rubber bearing subject to the invention to;
« Eliminate the lubrication problem of the stabilizer bearing,
• Decrease the rigidity of the stabilizer,
• Decrease the wear down of the stabilizer bearing due to lubrication problems and the noise emanating from the bearing,
• Increase the comfort of the suspension and to decrease the spring rigidity of the stabilizer.

Detailed description of the Invention
The invention subject to the invention, is related to a stabilizer bearing that enables the stabilizers, which are a part of the front suspension system of road vehicles to function without problems and to function for a longer period of time, characterized in that the inner section of the bearing is made of polyamide, and the outer section is made of special rubber material. A portion of the torsion moment that is received by the stabilizers (1) by means of this bearing (3) is transferred to the bearing (3) by minimizing the wearing down of the bearing (3).
The stabilizer comprising a bearing produced from thermoplastic polyurethane as in all stabilizers (1) is coupled to the chassis and the shaft. Oil channels wherein the lubricant can flow are present in the stabilizer bearing. By this means lubrication between the surface of the stabilizer and the bearing is provided. However due to the characterization of the polyurethane, in time the surface of the stabilizer wears off and in time the stabilizer makes noise. The bearing (3) made of special rubber comprises glass reinforced polyamide (POM) at its inner section and the outer section that is in contact with the surface of the stabilizer (1) is made of rubber. The bearing (3) is coupled to the shaft by means of a bracket (2) with slits designed to fit the shaft. When the stabilizer (1) is exposed to torsion moment the wearing down of the bearing (3) is minimized and flexibility is provided to the bearing by means of the rubber material. At the same time it is possible to increase the comfort of the suspension and to decrease the rigidity of the stabilizer spring (1)
Another advantage of the stabilizer (1) with rubber bearing is that if the bearing (3) needs to be changed due to impact or wear; only the part that has worn off (part made of glass reinforced polyamide material) can be changed as it is not monolithic and this can decrease the cost of maintenance significantly.

Claims

1. The invention is related to a stabilizer bearing (3) that enables the stabilizers (1), which are a part of the front suspension system of road vehicles to function without problems and to function for a longer life term; characterized in that the inner section of the bearing (3) is made of polyamide material and the outer section is made of special rubber material.
2. A rubber bearing stabilizer (1) according to claim 1; characterized in that the section that can wear down (section made of polyamide) is not monolithic so that it can be easily changed.
