Abstract

　温度履歴による温度分布が残った状態で印字（定着）を行う場合でも、その温度分布を迅速に低減し、印字（定着）動作開始までの待機時間を短縮して効率的な印字（定着）を可能とすることができる定着装置。本装置において、発熱手段は、常温では磁性を有するものの所定の温度以上では磁性が無くなる整磁材料からなる透磁性導電層を有し、温度検知手段は、発熱手段の幅方向のそれぞれ異なる所定の位置の温度を検知する複数の温度検知部材を有し、制御手段は、複数の温度検知部材の出力に基づいて、複数の温度検知部材の中から発熱手段に対する温度制御に用いる温度検知部材を選択し、選択した温度検知部材の出力に基づいて、発熱手段に対する温度制御を行う。
