Definitions
- the present invention relates to a structured device for constituting either a standing platform or a rehabilitator, a device that offers lifting, transfer and travel functions for the user.
- the invention is therefore located in the industrial field of the manufacture of devices and devices that help the mobility of people with disabilities and, more generally, the field of rehabilitation.
- the need for standing stands as a target for the autonomy and rehabilitation of any person with numerous types of Disability due both to the medical reasons that advise this state (reduce pressure on the tissues, as well as muscle and joint contractures, improve blood circulation and respiratory, digestive and renal functions, reduce spasticity, decrease progressive scoliosis, decrease decalcification bone, etc.) as for social reasons (participation in leisure and free time activities at the same level as wandering people, increased self-esteem ...) and personal autonomy and accessibility (possibility of "hands free” for manipulation, savings in adaptations and improvement of the household reach that is very limited from the position of the wheelchair).
- Standing people are technical aids whose main function is to keep a person upright who cannot do it himself.
- the electric standing chairs present two main problems: their high economic cost, great weight and high dimensions with the difficulty of maneuverability that they entail, making them unsuitable for access to small spaces and narrow doors. Only these types of chairs incorporate the possibility of autonomous movement in this standing position.
- Another type of standing with electric incorporation is one in which the motorized lift is carried out thanks to two roller belts that pull a harness that the user is placed on the back at a height between the buttocks and the lower back.
- the drive of the belts is done by means of a motor placed in the high part of the standing machine.
- This system presents two important problems. The first of these is the difficulty of placing a person sitting by himself on the harness in such a low position. The other is the angle and the shot height of the belts that are fixed throughout the lifting process; This means that, rather than elevation, there is a drag of the person towards the standing position causing problems of pivoting on the user's knee to achieve the elevation of the same. This generates an excessive and possibly harmful support force on the user's knees. Another negative effect is that in this initial drag a drag of the chair also originates since the person is not yet elevated on it. Stakes of these and other types appear in the following patents: Edgard c.
- the device proposed by the invention solves in a fully satisfactory manner the aforementioned problem, offering simultaneously the benefits of a standing forklift and a walking walker or rehabilitator, with an optimum level of performance both in one and another aspect.
- the device that is recommended is constituted from a rolling and motorized chassis, provided with a footrest and tilting platform, so that this platform is selectively usable, specifically it is usable when the device acts as a standing position, but it goes into an inoperative situation when the device is used as a walker. Heel and toe fixings allow the user's feet to be stabilized conveniently on the said footrest platform, when the device is used as a standing rack. From the aforementioned chassis emerges a frame of adequate height, on which knee-rests of adjustable positioning are established both vertically and horizontally, in order to achieve a proper positional adaptation to the anatomical characteristics of the user.
- the frame is topped off on a table on which the joystick or travel keyboard is set to control the rolling chassis on the ground, while a second command or keyboard, located in an area of greater accessibility from the position of seated of the user, allows to carry out the lifting maneuvers to the standing position.
- the structure described is complemented by a pair of motor-reducers for driving the drive wheels of the chassis, with a battery for driving both said motor-reducers and the aforementioned linear motor, and with position tracking sensors of both feet.
- the footrest platform collapses towards a vertical and inoperative position, as previously noted, and the aforementioned lumbar and dorsal harnesses are in turn replaced by a walking, perineal and trunk harness. , also suspended from the free end of the lifting bars.
- the device of the invention two types of needs are covered for two different groups: on the one hand, it is about allowing independent standing to people who cannot do it themselves but who have control of the upper extremities, providing them In addition to the possibility of equally autonomous displacement.
- the device requires only the help of a person who, without making considerable effort, must place the harnesses on the subject and handle the control knobs.
- voice control systems, controls or keyboards controlled by mouth, etc. which considerably extend the freedom of use of the device of the invention.
- the system is alternatively oriented to people who must carry out a process of learning or rehabilitation of walking allowing the device of the invention to stand them up, keep them in that position and help them in the walking process, controlling the traction of the rolling device .
- all user control activities can be carried out manually or automatically, depending on the individual's walking requirements at any time.
- Figure 1 shows, according to a schematic perspective representation, a standing and rehabilitation device carried out in accordance with the object of the present invention, which appears in a standing position.
- Figure 2. Shows a scheme of the combined principle of lifting and transfer by rotating movement of the lifting bars.
- Figure 3. It shows another scheme, now of the progression of the elevation / transfer of the user from the sitting position to standing position.
- Figure 4.- Shows a group of six sequences in lateral elevation, from the sitting position to the standing position.
- Figure 5. Shows a schematic representation in perspective similar to figure 1, but in which the device appears in the rehabilitation position.
- the device proposed by the invention is constituted from a chassis (1) that supports a foot-rest platform (2) equipped with fixings for the user's feet, specifically heel fixings (3) and toe fixings (4), emerging from said chassis (1) a frame in which two vertical and inner bars (5) and two other bars participate vertical and exterior (6).
- the inner bars (5) of the frame (6) constitute the support for a knee rest (7) equipped with depth adjustment means (8) and height adjustment means (9), to positionally adapt it to the anatomical characteristics of the user.
- Said frame (5-6) constitutes in parallel the support element for a dorsal harness (10), fixable with the possibility of positional adjustment and through hooks (11) to a pair of lifting bars (12) tilting on the frame (5- 6) in the upper area thereof, by means of a transverse axis (13), beyond which said bars (12) are prolonged, closing on themselves by means of a crossbar (14), on which a middle zone acts linear motor (15) pivotally mounted on the chassis (1) and assisted by a connecting rod (16) acting on the middle area of the aforementioned crossbar (14) opposed to harness (10).
- the dorsal harness (10) is intended to carry out the lifting maneuver from the sitting position to the standing position, as shown by the first five sequences of Figure 4, but once said standing situation has been achieved said dorsal harness (10) is replaced by a lumbar harness (18), as shown in turn by the last sequence of the aforementioned figure 4, lumbar harness that is also fixed to the upper area of the frame, specifically to the outer bars ( 6), by hooks (19) duly in solidarity with it.
- the chassis (1) is a rolling chassis, counting in its vertices with self-orientating wheels (20) that give it due stability, and incorporating in its area half tractor wheels (21), driven in one or the other direction by respective motor-reducers (22), from a second control panel (23), specifically with the participation of an electronic module (24) and a power battery (25).
- This control panel (23) is placed on an upper table (26) that tops the upper extremity of the frame (5-6), and is provided at its edge next to the user with a cushion (27) that allows a support comfortable body on said tray, as also seen in the last sequence of Figure 4.
- the footrest platform (2) is foldable, for which purpose it is related to the chassis (1) through hinges (28), so that said footrest is inoperative when the device is used as a walker, according to the representation of figure 5.
- a third harness (29), perineal and trunk, has been provided, also intended to be suspended from the hooks (11) that top the lifting bars (12), replacing the dorsal harness (10), obviously having this harness
- Figure 2 shows how the lifting bars (12) determine, from the sitting position to the standing position, an initial movement in which the elevation is pure, progressively decreasing said elevation and initiating an approximation movement that in turn is progressively increasing, up to a borderline situation of pure approach or transfer.
- Figure 3 this progression of the elevation / transfer of the user from the sitting position to the standing position is also shown, figure in which the length of the lifting or rotating arm is referenced with (b), the elevation with (e) the approximation with (a) and the transfer with (t), where ⁇ is the variable angle that the rotating arm (b) or pair of lifting bars adopts and where:
- Figure 6 shows the electronic module or processor (24) that receives information from both the elevator keyboard (17) and the ambulation keyboard (23), as well as the foot position sensor (30), and which through a controller (31) governs the motor-elevator (15) and the traction motors (22), said electronic processor (24) being logically assisted by a database (32).
- the device is equally usable in settling maneuvers on the toilet bowl, and subsequent reintegration of the position of standing, or in any other type of similar maneuver that may be required by the user.
