To all whom, it may concern;

Be it known that I, ELIZABETH M. WOOD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Toilet Articles, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to a new and useful improvement in toilet articles, and has for its object to provide an article adapted to be attached to a male person to prevent the soiling or wetting of the bedclothes when said person is an invalid or of extreme age.

l/Vith these ends in view this invention consists in the details of construction and combination of elements hereinafter set forth, and then specifically designated by the claims.

In order that those skilled in the art to which this invention appertains may understand how to make and use the same, the con struction and operation will now be described in detail, referring to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a longitudinal section through the device. This device is adapted to be strapped or otherwise fastened to the body of the person, so that the private parts will be inclosed within the device and the article will extend lgetdween the patients legs and rest upon the In the drawings, A represents an elongated reservoir adapted to receive the urine. The end B of the article is shaped so as to con form to the outlines of the person, and in the upper portion of the device is a passage C, in which the penis is adapted to rest, and this passage C extends from the end B inward to the reservoir A. At the end B and underneath the passage C is arranged a cavity D, adapted to receive and hold the scrotum, and in the lower side of this cavityD is arranged a removable perforated plate E, and underneath the cavity D is arranged a chamber F, ndth which the perforations of the plate E communicate, and this chamber is adapted to receive any moisture escaping from the scrotum or any of the urine which might pass around the outside of the scrotum.

G is a plug having an opening formed therethrough, which is threaded through the lower wall of the cavity D, and to this plug is adapted to be attached a flexible bag H, adapted to receive the moisture or flood from the chamber F. This bag is so attached to the plug G that it may be easily removed and cleansed or a new bag substituted. The plug E can be removed for the purpose of cleansing the chamber F. Thus it will be seen that by attaching this device to any patient who cannot retain the urine long enough to enable him to use a vessel, the urine will be caught in a reservoir, as also will be any moisture expelled from the parts, so that the bed-clothing will not become soiled or damp, and the device can be easily removed and emptied from time to time. n

This article may be attached to the body by straps, bands, or other devices in any manner desired.

The device may be made of any material desired, but of course such material would be used that would not be corroded by the urine-such as lass, porcelain, hard rubber, or the likeand the device could be made in several parts or in one piece.

Of course I do not wish to be limited to the exact construction here shown, as slight modifications could be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and useful is 1. In a device of the character described, an article adapted to be attached to a male person and extend downward between the legs of said person, and said article provided with a passage in which the penis is adapted torest and a reservoir included within the ar ticle communicating with said passage, a cavity formed in the article in which the scrotum is adapted to rest, the lower wall of said cavity being perforated, a chamber arranged within the article below the cavity and with which the perforations communicate, and a flexible bag extending from the lowest point plf said chamber, as and for the purpose speci- 2.
