Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a smartphone holder that straps to a user's hand, enabling use and rotation of the device which being securely fastened to the palm.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Handheld electronic devices are popular work, entertainment and design tools, enjoyed by many because of their simplicity of use and wide user appeal. Young and old are able to use the devices like smartphones, computer tablets, digital music players and the like because they are strategically designed to be intuitive and user friendly allowing almost anyone to use them. Smartphones are especially convenient in combining the utility of a telephone with the powerful processing of a computer, image capture and resolution of a camera, and quality sound output of a music player.
- While these tools are fun and helpful, they can often be difficult to hold. Many people find that typing on the go and even picture taking is difficult, because of the narrow body and smooth exterior surface. A tight secure grip is needed to prevent dropping the delicate device. The sleek design and exterior surface of the smartphone typically requires that a case to allow for a better grip more secure. Most of the time, the case interferes with the sleekness of the device thereby defeating the purpose of a small compact design. Therefore it would be beneficial in the art to provide a smartphone holder that is secure yet non-bulky. It would also be desirable in the art to provide a smartphone holder that enables regular use, while still maintaining a secure grasp on the smartphone to prevent dropping during use.
- In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the prior art, the general purpose of the present invention is to provide a strapped electronic device holder to securely attach an electronic device to a user's hand, configured to include all of the advantages of the prior art, and to overcome the drawbacks inherent therein.
- Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic device holder that includes a clip fastened around the back of the electronic device. The clip is attached to an adjustable strap that fits snugly around a user's hand.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a strapped electronic device holder that rotates the electronic device about the strap for convenient use in any direction.
- To achieve the above objects, in an aspect of the present invention, a strapped electronic device holder is described comprising a clip fastened horizontally around an electronic device, where the clip includes a pair of grips one at each end, where the clips hug each side of the electronic device; a strap wrapped around a user's hand, where the strap includes a slit; a fastener on a backside of the clip, where the fastener includes a dial to rotate the fastener about the clip; and a lock on the dial, where the lock inserts into the slit on the strap and rotates to secure the clip against the strap.
- These together with other aspects of the present invention, along with the various features of novelty that characterize the present invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed hereto and form a part of this present invention. For a better understanding of the present invention, its operating advantages, and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be made to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated exemplary embodiments of the present invention.
- The advantages and features of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following detailed description and claims taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein like elements are identified with like symbols, and in which:
-
FIG. 1 depicts a rear view of a strapped electronic device holder in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 1(A) depicts a front view of an electronic device with the strapped electronic device holder according to the present invention attached thereto. -
FIG. 2 depicts a top view of a strapped electronic device holder in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 3 depicts a perspective view of a strapped electronic device holder in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 3(A) depicts a strap used with the strapped electronic device holder according to the present invention around a user's hand. - Like reference numerals refer to like parts throughout the description of several views of the drawings.
- The present invention relates to a smartphone holder that straps to a user's hand, enabling use and rotation of the device which being securely fastened to the palm. The present invention provides a strapped electronic device holder to prevent smartphones from falling during use. The strapped electronic device holder consists of a clip with two grips that wrap on each side of the smartphone. The clip attaches to a strap that is then wrapped around a user's hand. The strap is adjustable to provide a tight yet comfortable fit for the user. With the strapped electronic device holder the user is afforded a convenient, flexible, and comfortable device that prevents slipping and dropping of their smartphone during operation.
- Turning now descriptively to the drawings, referring to
FIG. 1 , a rear view of a strappedelectronic device holder 100 is shown in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The strappedelectronic device holder 100 includes aclip 102 with a pair ofgrips clip 102 extends horizontally across the backside of anelectronic device 10, and thegrips device 10. As illustrated inFIG. 1(A) thegrips electronic device 10 for a secure fit. Theelectronic device 10 may be a smartphone, computer tablet, music player or other commonly used handheld electronic device. Theclip 102 andgrips electronic device 10 to prevent scratching and/or damage to the surface of the electronic device when inserted into theclip 102 and to provide greater friction on the exterior surface to better prevent slippage. - On a central portion of the
clip 102 is afastener 106. Thefastener 106 includes adial 108 with alock 110. Thedial 108 enables theclip 102 and therefore theelectronic device 102 to turn and rotate. As will be explained in detail in reference toFIG. 2 , thelock 110 secures thefastener 106 to a strap and ensures that theclip 102 remains in place. Thelock 110 may be elongated and shaped like a strip to couple with the strip in the strap. - Referring now to
FIG. 2 , a top view of the strappedelectronic device holder 100 is shown. Thegrips clip 102 in a curved manner to tightly grab theelectronic device 10. To enable attachment to a user's hand astrap 120 is used that wraps over the palm. Thestrap 120 may be elastic, rubber, leather, neoprene, vinyl, or a similar flexible fabric. Thestrap 120 may be adjustable at anadjustor 122 which allows for shortening and lengthening of thestrap 120. Thestrap 120 is secured with a fastening means 124 once adjusted to the proper length. The fastening means 124 may be a hook and loop fastener, a snap, a clip, a hook or the like. Along thestrap 120 is aslit 126. Theslit 126 receives thelock 110, where once thelock 110 is through theslit 126 thelock 110 rotates to secure theclip 102 against thestrap 120. Since thelock 110 is elongated it easily fits into theslit 126, but then upon rotation theslit 126 and thelock 110 crisscross to prevent thelock 110 from removal. Theslit 126 may be reinforced to prevent ripping or widening of theslit 126 when attached to theclip 102. - Referring to
