Description
本發明係關於一種具有優異產能及安全性之二次電池。尤其,本發明係關於一種具有一結構之二次電池,其結構中具有陰極/隔離膜/陽極組成之膠捲結構,該膠捲結構係設置於圓筒型電池盒中,且一板狀絕緣件係設置在此膠捲的頂端,其中該絕緣件具有一多孔結構,且其中複數個細緻孔洞係以一縱向方向或以一橫向及縱向方向連結。
關於行動裝置的發展及隨之而增的需求已快速帶動將二次電池作為能源的需求。在二次電池中,已將有著高能量密度、高驅動電壓以及優異的儲存及壽命特性的鋰二次電池廣泛地使用作為包含行動裝置之各種電器裝置的能源。
根據電池盒的形狀,可將二次電池分為分別嵌置於圓柱及矩形金屬罐之圓柱及矩形電池,以及嵌置於鋁疊片製之囊狀盒之囊狀電池。其中,圓柱電池具有較高的電容及優異的結構穩定性。設置於電池盒中的電極係一種能夠進行充、放電之產電裝置,該電極分為膠捲型、層疊
型以及層疊/摺疊型,於膠捲型中,電極組包含嵌置於陰極及陽極間之一隔離膜,且每一電極係由塗布活性材料長片所捲繞;於層疊型中,複數個陰極及複數個陽極係依序層疊,且一隔離膜係嵌置於陰極與陽極間;層疊/摺疊型則係膠捲型及層疊型的結合,在此之中,膠捲型的電極組具有容易製造且於每單位重量下具有高能量密度的優點。
關於此,習知的圓柱二次電池如圖1所示。而圖2及圖3係習知用於圓柱二次電池之絕緣件之平面圖。
於圖2及圖3中,圓筒二次電池100之製備係將一膠捲型(捲繞型)電極組120置入一電池盒130中,並注入電解質於電池盒130,再將裝備於電極端(例如陰極端,圖未示)之蓋組140耦合至電池盒130之頂端開口。
電極組120係透過將一隔離膜123嵌入於陰極121及陽極122中,再將所得之結構捲繞成圓型而形成。一圓柱中心栓150係嵌置於膠捲的核心(中心)。此中心栓150基本上係由金屬所製以提供預設的強度,且具有金屬片彎曲環繞之中空型圓筒結構。此中心栓150之設置係用於支持電極組,並做為一種通道,以排放充、放電過程及操作過程中所產生的氣體。
此外,一板狀絕緣件180a係設置於電極組120的頂端,且其中心處具有一開口181a,用以和中心栓150之通孔151連接,藉此使氣體排放,並使電極組120之陰極頂端142與蓋組140之蓋板145連接。
然而,設置於膠捲頂部的絕緣件180a係一種
阻擋通道的結構,其能使電解質透過將其注入電池的方式滲入電池中。為此原因,電解質僅透過與中心栓150連接之開口181a以及絕緣件180a以外的區域滲入至電池中,因而使電解質注入的時間拉長,且導致產率的降低。
為改善如圖3之電解質的滲入,因而提出一種部分連結的元件180b,其結構具有複數個孔洞182b圍繞於開口181b。
然而,此結構被發現具有一連串安全性的問題,換言之,例如,製造及/或組裝蓋組140及電池盒130等過程中產生的金屬粉末係一種導電不純粒子,其會透過孔洞182b(絕緣件180b之穿孔)而滲入至電極組中,藉此發生短路或縮短電池的壽命。
因此,二次電池目前急需加強電解質的注入可加工性,並避免在組裝電池過程中摻入雜質,以改善其壽命。
因此,本發明係用於解決上述問題以及其他尚未被解決的技術問題。
為解決各種廣泛及深入的研究及實驗的上述問題,本發明之發明者發展一種絕緣件,其具有如下所述之特殊形狀,且於膠捲中,發現其能夠增強電解質的可注入性,避免在例如像彎曲之組裝過程中摻雜雜質,藉此防止電池的劣化,並改善其安全性。本發明係基於此發現而完成。
本發明之一態樣係提供一種二次電池,具有將陰極/隔離膜/陽極結構之膠捲設置於一圓柱電池盒之結構,且一板狀絕緣件係設置於膠捲頂端,其中絕緣件係具有多孔結構,且該多孔結構中,複數個細緻孔洞係以一縱向方向或一橫向及縱向方向連結。因此,於本發明二次電池中,一電解質係透過此具有特殊形狀的複數個孔洞注入,以縮短其注入時間以及改善可注入性。
上述細緻孔洞的孔洞結構、大小、位置、數量及彼此間的距離無特別限制,只要不削弱避免雜質的混入、電解質的可注入性以及氣體排放性即可。
較佳地,上述細緻孔洞可使電性絕緣件具有其夠有的絕緣件功能,且在注入電解質時具有高滲入性,此外,其孔洞大小為1 μm至100 μm,藉此避免大小為100 μm或以上的雜質的滲入。
在此情況下,便無雜質在電解質注入過程中混入膠捲的情形。因此,本發明能夠有利地省略山選集移除外離物質的處理,以雜質混入所造成的短路危險,並能改善產率。
於一特殊實施例中,上述細緻孔洞可在絕緣件的整個表面上彼此間隔,以避免大小為100 μm或以上的雜質混合進入,並能改善電解質的可注入性以及氣體排放。
當電解質注入至絕緣層全表面上所形成之細緻孔洞時,注入的通道可更進行分支而改善其可注入性,減少注入時間,於細緻孔洞間預設距離的固定注入速度,
電解質均勻的注入至膠捲中,進而改善電池特性。
此外,布置於絕緣件之全表面且以預定距離彼此間隔的細緻孔洞係能提供複數個通道,以使電解質解離所產生的氣體排放。關於氣體的擴散,當氣體透過排放分支排除時,可加快放電速度。
在本發明中,「該些細緻孔洞係以縱向方向或以橫向及縱向方向連接」的意思係指該些細緻孔洞係至少以在板狀絕緣件中的垂直方向連接。因此,注入絕緣件的電解質可藉由該些細緻孔洞在至少一縱向方向上的連接而使其往絕緣件之較底部移動。如上所定義,此種細緻孔洞不僅可由一縱向方向連結,亦可以橫向方向連結(於板狀絕緣件之水平方向)。
所有的細緻孔洞無須進行連結,較佳可為50%或以上的細緻孔洞進行連結,更佳可為70%或以上的細緻孔洞進行連結。可了解的是該些細緻孔洞係一種開放型態的孔洞。
此種連結的細緻孔洞可由多種方法製備形成。例如添加一化學或物理發泡劑至一溶解物或溶液中,以形成絕緣件之材料(由聚合樹脂或聚合複合物所製成),接著進行發泡或添加一可溶解的填充劑於上述溶解物或溶液中後,再移除填充劑而形成。然而形成細緻孔洞的方法並不限於此。
於一特殊實施例中,上述連結的細緻孔洞之形成可藉由添加發泡沫劑。上述物理發泡劑的例子包含丁烷、
戊烷或例如像發泡聚苯乙烯(EPS)及EPP等用以有類似效果者。化學發泡劑的例子包含例如像碳酸氫鈉(NaHCO3)之無機發泡劑,以及例如像偶氮二甲醯胺(azodicaronamide(ADAC))、P,P’-雙氧(苯磺醯肼)(P,P’-oxybis(benzene sulfonyl hydrazide(OBSH))以及對-甲苯磺醯基醯肼(p-toluene sulfonyl hydrazine(TSH))之有機發泡劑。
基本上,當多孔性增加時,絕緣件的密度將減少且亦會劣化其機械特性。為此理由,多孔性可藉由添加一補強填充劑至一聚合物樹脂或聚合物樹脂組成物而加以維持並確保所欲之機械特性。上述補強填充劑可為顆粒或纖維狀,且其含量無特別限制。舉例來說,以絕緣件的總重量為基準,填充劑的含量為0.5至20重量百分比,較佳為1至10重量百分比。
上述絕緣件可由任何絕緣材料製備,無特別限制,例如係以一電性絕緣樹脂或電性絕緣聚合複合成物所製成。尤其,上述聚合物樹脂可為一或以上選自由:聚乙烯(PE)、聚丙烯(PP)、聚丁烯(PB)、聚苯乙烯(PS)、聚對苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)、天然橡膠以及合成橡膠所組成之群組。
此外,上述絕緣件總厚度為0.1 mm至0.5 mm。當絕緣件厚度太薄時,則難以使絕緣件發揮足夠的固有電性絕緣功能,而當其厚度太厚時,則會在相同電池盒大小情況下使膠捲大小變小,並降低電池的容量。
較佳地,上述絕緣件包含一開口,以使電極端
通過。
較佳地,本發明之二次電池可藉由將含鋰電解質注入至膠捲中而應用至鋰二次電池。
基本上,鋰二次電池包含一陰極、一陽極、一隔離膜、一含鋰液態電解質等等。
舉例來說,陰極之製作係藉由將一陰極混合物形成於一陰極電流收集器上,接著乾燥並捲繞而製成,其中陰極混合物包含有陰極活性材料、選擇性的包含導電材料、黏著劑、填充劑等等以及例如像NMP之溶劑。
陰極活性材料的例子無特別限制,包含層狀化合物,例如鋰鈷氧化物(LiCoO2)或鋰鎳氧化物(LiNiO2)或選至一種或多種過渡金屬之化合物;鋰鎂氧化物,例如Li1+yMn2-yO4(其中y係0至0.33)、LiMnO3、LiMn2O3及LiMnO2;鋰銅氧化物(Li2CuO2);釩氧化物,例如LiV3O8、LiFe3O4、V2O5以及Cu2V2O7;Ni位型鋰鎳氧化物,由LiNi1-yMyO2所示(其中M=Co、Mn、Al、Cu、Fe、Mg、B或Ga,y=0.01至0.3);鋰鎂化合物氧化物,由化學式LiMn2-yMyO2(其中M=Co、Ni、Fe、Cr、Zn或Ta,y=0.01至0.1)或Li2Mn3MO8(其中M=Fe、Co、Ni、Cu或Zn)所示;LiMn2O4,其中部分Li係由鹼土金屬離子取代;二硫化合物;Fe2(MoO4)3及其類似者。
上述陰極電流收集器基本上係製成3至500 μm的厚度,任何陰極電流收集器皆可使用,只要不會在電池中導致不良的化學變化且具有適當的導電性即可,無特別
限制。陰極收集器的例子包括不鏽鋼、鋁、鎳、鈦、燒結炭、及表面進行碳、鎳、鈦或銀處理之鋁或不銹鋼。該些電流收集器在其表面上包含有細微的不規則,藉此增強電極活性材料的黏附力。此外,電流收集器可形成許多型態,包含薄膜狀、片狀、箔狀、網狀、多孔結構狀、沫狀及不織纖維狀。
以包含陰極活性材料的混合物總重量為基準,導電材料的添加量為1至30%。任何導電材料皆可使用,無特別限制,只要於電池中不造成不良化學變化且具有適當的導電性即可。導電材料的例子包含石墨烯;碳黑物,例如碳黑、乙炔黑、Ketjen黑、信道黑(channel black)、爐黑、燈碳黑(lamp black)與熱碳黑;導電纖維,例如碳纖維及金屬纖維;金屬粉末,例如氟化碳粉末、鋁粉及鎳粉;導電晶須,例如氧化鋅及鈦酸鉀;導電金屬氧化物,例如氧化鈦;及聚苯延伸物。
上述黏著劑係一種能夠增強電極活性材料與導電材料及電流收集器黏著力之一種材料。以包含有陰極活性材料之混合物的總重量為基準,上述黏著劑之添加量係1至30%。黏著劑的例子包含聚亞乙烯、聚乙烯醇、碳酸甲基纖維素(CMC)、澱粉、羥丙基纖維素、再生纖維素、聚乙烯基吡咯烷酮、四氟乙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、乙烯丙烯二烯三元烯共聚物(EPDM)、磺化EPDM、苯乙烯丁二烯橡膠、氟橡膠及各種共聚物。
能夠選擇性使用的填充劑能避免電極的膨脹。
任何填充劑都可以使用,無特別限制,只要在電池中不造成不良化學變化即可,且其為纖維材料。填充劑的例子包含烯烴聚合物,例如聚乙烯及聚丙烯;以及纖維材料,例如玻璃纖維以及碳纖維。
上述隔離膜係嵌設於陰極與陽極間。關於隔離膜,可使用具有高離子滲透度以及機械強度之隔離薄膜。基本上,上述隔離膜具有0.01至10 m的孔徑,以及5至300 m的厚度。於隔離膜中,可使用以烯烴聚合物(例如像聚丙烯及/或玻璃纖維或聚乙烯)製成的具有化學抗性及疏水性的片狀或不織纖維。當以例如像聚合物的固態電解質作為電解質時,此固態電解質亦可作為隔離膜以及電解質。
舉例來說,陽極係藉由包含將一陽極活性材料以及溶劑(例如NMP)混合形成一陽極混合物形成一漿料後,塗布於一陽極電流收集器,接著乾燥、卷繞而製成。上述陽極混合物可更選擇性的包含上述成分。
上述陽極活性材料的例子包含碳,例如硬碳、石墨烯系碳;金屬複合氧化物,例如LixFe2O3(0x1)、LixWO2(0x1)、SnxMe1-xMe’yOz(Me:Mn、Fe、Pb、Ge;Me’:Al、B、P、Si、第I、II及III族元素、鹵素;0<x1;1y3;1z8);鋰金屬;鋰合金;矽系合金;錫系合金;金屬氧化物,例如SnO、SnO2、PbO、PbO2、Pb2O3、Pb3O4、Sb2O3、Sb2O4、Sb2O5、GeO、GeO2、Bi2O3、Bi2O4及Bi2O5;導電聚合物,例如聚乙炔;Li-Co-Ni系材料及其類似者。
上述陽極電流收集器基本上的厚度為3至500
μm。任何陽極電流收集器皆可使用,無特別限制,只要於電池中不造成不良化學變化且具有穩定的導電性即可。陽極電流收集器的例子包含銅、不鏽鋼、鋁、鎳、燒結碳、及表面處理碳、鎳、鈦或銀之銅或不鏽鋼、以及鋁-鎘合金。與陰極電流收集器相同,此電流收集器於表面上包含細緻的不規則,藉此以增與電及活性材料的黏著性。此外,此電流收集器可形成各種型態,包含薄膜狀、片狀、箔狀、網狀、多孔結構狀、沫狀及不織纖維狀。
與此同時,上述電解質係由非水溶性電解質及鋰鹽所組成。較佳之電解質的例子包含非水溶性有機溶劑、有機固態電解質、無機固態電解質及其類似者。
上述非水溶性電解質包含非質子有機溶劑,例如N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮(N-methyl-2-pyrollidinone)、丙烯碳酸酯(propylene carbonate)、乙烯碳酸酯(ethylene carbonate)、丁烯碳酸酯(butylene carbonate)、二甲基碳酸酯(dimethyl carbonate)、二乙基碳酸酯(diethyl carbonate)、γ-丁內酯(gamma-butyrolactone)、1,2-二甲氧基乙烷(1,2-dimethoxy ethane)、四羥基法蘭克(tetrahydroxy franc)、2-甲基四氫呋喃(2-methyl tetrahydrofuran)、二甲基亞碸(dimethylsulfoxide)、1,3-二環戊烷(1,3-dioxolane)、甲醯胺(formamide)、二甲基甲醯胺(dimethylformamide)、二環戊烷(dioxolane)、乙腈(acetonitrile)、硝基甲烷(nitromethane)、甲基甲酸(methyl formate)、甲基醋酸(methyl acetate)、磷酸三酯(phosphoric acid triester)、三甲氧基甲烷(trimethoxy methane)、二環戊烷延伸
物(dioxolane derivatives)、環丁碸(sulfolane)、甲基環丁碸(methyl sulfolane)、1,3-二甲基-2-咪唑啉酮(1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone)、丙烯碳酸酯延伸物(propylene carbonate derivatives)、四氫呋喃延伸物(tetrahydrofuran derivatives)、醚(ether)、甲基丙酸(methyl propionate)及乙基丙酸(ethyl propionate)。
上述有機固態電解質的例子包含聚乙烯延伸物、聚乙烯氧化物延伸物、聚丙烯氧化物延伸物、磷酸酯聚合物、聚攪動賴酸(poly agitation lysine)、聚酯硫化物、聚乙烯醇、聚偏二氟乙烯、及包含離子解離基之聚合物。
上述無機固態電解質的例子包含鋰的氮化物、鹵化物、硫化物,例如Li3N、LiI、Li5NI2、Li3N-LiI-LiOH、LiSiO4、LiSiO4-LiI-LiOH、Li2SiS3、Li4SiO4、Li4SiO4-LiI-LiOH及Li3PO4-Li2S-SiS2。
上述鋰鹽係一種容易溶於上述非水溶性電解質的金屬,其例子包含LiCl、LiBr、LiI、LiClO4、LiBF4、LiB10Cl10、LiPF6、LiCF3SO3、LiCF3CO2、LiAsF6、LiSbF6、LiAlCl4、CH3SO3Li、CF3SO3Li、(CF3SO2)2NLi、硼氯烷鋰(chloroborane lithium)、低脂肪碳酸鋰、鋰四苯硼(lithium tetraphenyl borate)及醯亞胺。
因此,為改善充電/放電特性以及阻燃性,可例如添加吡啶(pyridine)、三乙基磷酸(triethylphosphite)、三乙醇胺(triethanolamine)、環醚(cyclic ether)、乙烯基二胺(ethylenediamine)、n-二甲醚(n-glyme)、六磷酸三胺
(hexaphosphoric triamide)、硝苯基延伸物(nitrobenzene derivatives)、硫(sulfur)、醌亞胺染料(quinone imine dyes)、N-取代之噁唑烷酮(N-substituted oxazolidinone)、N,N-取代之咪唑(N,N-substituted imidazolidine)、乙烯基乙二醇醚(ethylene glycol dialkyl ether)、銨鹽(ammonium salts)、吡咯(pyrrole)、2-甲氧基乙醇(2-methoxy ethanol)、三氯化鋁(aluminum trichloride)或其類似者於上述非水溶性電解質中。為具有不燃性,上述非水溶性電解質可更視情況包含含鹵溶劑,例如四氯化碳以及三氟乙烯。此外,為改善高溫儲存特性,上述非水溶性電解質可更含有二氧化碳氣體、氟乙烯碳酸酯(FEC)、丙烯內酯(PRS)或氟乙烯碳酸酯(FEC)。
本發明亦提供一種包含二次電池之裝置以作為動力源,且就優異的壽命及安全性來說,本發明之此裝置較佳係用於行動裝置,例如手機、攜帶式電腦以及輕型電動車(LEVs)、電動車(EVs)、混合電動車(HEVs)、插電式混合電動車以及儲電裝置。
上述鋰二次電池及中型及大型電池組的結構及製造方法、以及包含以鋰二次電池作為電池單元的裝置係本技術之習知技術,故少略其細節的敘述。
如前述可了解,本發明之二次電池不須經過篩選及移除雜質的處理,且其電解質的注入通道具分支,因此有利於大幅改善產量。
本發明之二次電池不會有因雜質摻入所導致的短路危險,且能改善氣體的排放,因此能增強其安全性。
再者,由於膠捲係均勻的浸於電解質中,因此,本發明之二次電池能大幅改善其速率特性。
此外,本發明之二次電池能夠維持多孔性且能確保所欲之機械強度,因此能改善其產率。

在此,本發明將由以下實施例更加詳述。以下實施例僅用於描述本發明,下應解釋為限制本發明之範疇及精神。
圖4係本發明實施例之絕緣件平面示意圖。
關於圖4及圖1,二次電池100具一結構,其中具有陰極121/隔離膜123/陽極122之膠捲120係設置於圓筒電池盒130中,其中,絕緣件180c係設置於膠捲120的頂端。
上述絕緣件180c包含聚對苯二甲酸乙二醇酯,其厚度約為0.4 mm,該絕緣件的一側具有一開口181c,且
在絕緣件之表面上布滿複數個直徑為10至30 μm之彼此具預定間距之細緻孔洞182c。
因此,電解質在注射後會透過複數之細緻孔洞182c滲入絕緣件180c之整個表面中,藉此使可注入性以及避免短路發生的情形獲得改善。
在此,本發明將由以下實施例更進一步詳述,該些實施例僅用於說明本發明,並不解釋限制本發明之範疇及精神。
[實施例1]
如圖4所示,一絕緣件係使用PET為材料且以ADAC作為發泡劑進行製造,其中,絕緣件厚度為0.4 mm,於其一側包含寬6 mm及長2.5 mm之穿孔,且包含複數個直徑為10至30 μm的細緻孔洞,以10至30 μm預設距離均勻遍布於絕緣件之整個表面。接著,將此絕緣件設置於一膠捲之頂端,其中一陰極/隔離膜/陽極係依一中心栓進行捲繞,在電池組裝過程中產生金屬細粉末並落入絕緣件之狀態下製成18650(直徑18 mm,長65 mm)標準之圓柱二次電池。
[實施例2]
一絕緣件以及一二次電池的製備方法與實施例1相同,差別在於絕緣件係包含複數個直徑為100 μm的細緻孔洞,且該孔洞係均勻地以預設約120 μm的距離遍布於其整個表面上。
[比較例1]
一絕緣件以及一二次電池的製備方法與實施例1相同,差別在於不包含複數個細緻孔洞,如圖2所示。
[比較例2]
一絕緣件以及一二次電池的製備方法與實施例1相同,差別在於將如圖3所示之形成三個直徑為2.5 mm之孔洞來取代細緻孔洞。
[比較例3]
一絕緣件以及一二次電池的製備方法與實施例1相同,差別在於該絕緣件具有直徑為150μm之複數個細緻孔洞,且該孔洞係均勻地以預設約120 μm的距離遍布於其整個表面上來製備。
[測試例1]
將實施例1及2,比較例1至3之進行電解質注入測試,結果如下之表1所示。此電解質注入測試係將1M的LiPF6碳酸酯電解質注入圓筒電池盒中,並量測膠捲達到100%的注入率時所花費的時間。重複四次此過程,並計算所得之四個值得平均。
此外,將一蓋組焊接至二次電池的頂端,並製成10個樣品。將上述樣品進行充、放電測試,並確認所產生的短路,結果如下之表1所示。
由表1可了解,本發明實施例1至2之電池相較於比較例1具有明顯較短的電解質注入時間。換言之,於此可發現電解質能藉由形成於絕緣件上的複數個細緻孔洞而有效進行滲入。
比較例2的電池呈現出對注入的改善,但相較於比較例1之電池卻提高了其短路的比率。比較例3之電池亦相較於實施例1及2具有滲入性,然卻存在較高的短率比率。上述現象之理由係因為金屬粉末會滲入相對大的孔洞中,而使膠捲發生短路所造成。
另一方面,即使細緻孔洞不形成於設置於電池之絕緣件上,比較例1的電池相較於實施例1及2仍具有較高的短路比率。此高短路比率的原因乃被認為是因為實施例1及2電池中的金屬粉末會陷入細緻孔洞,因此能抑制其移動,但是,比較例1之電池中,金屬粉末可以自由
的在絕緣件平滑表面上移動,且能透過絕緣件開放的周邊而移動至膠捲。
雖然本發明較佳的實施例已為了說明之目的而揭露,然所屬技術領域者將能夠在不偏離本發明揭露之申請專利範圍之精神及範疇下,了解各種可能的修飾、附加及取代。

Claims (10)
- 一種二次電池,其具有一結構,於該結構中,具有一陰極/隔離膜/陽極結構之一膠捲設置於一圓柱電池盒中,及一板狀絕緣體設置於該膠捲的頂端;其中,該絕緣件具有一多孔結構,且其中複數個細緻孔洞係以一縱向方向或以一橫向及縱向方向連結。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之二次電池,其中該些細緻孔洞係遍布形成於該絕緣層之表面上。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之二次電池,其中該絕緣件更包含一補強填充劑,以改善其機械強度。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之二次電池,其中該絕緣件包含一電性絕緣聚合樹脂或一電性絕緣聚合複合物。
- 如申請專利範圍第4項所述之二次電池,其中該聚合樹脂係包含至少一選自由:聚乙烯(PE)、聚丙烯(PP)、聚丁烯(PB)、聚苯乙烯(PS)、聚對苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)、天然橡膠以及合成橡膠所組成之群組。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之二次電池,其中該絕緣件之厚度為0.1 mm至0.5 mm。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之二次電池,其中該絕緣件包含一開口,以使複數之電極端穿過。
