Abstract
A catalyst for producing an unsaturated carboxylic acid, wherein the catalyst is used for obtaining an unsaturated carboxylic acid from an unsaturated aldehyde, and contains Component A represented by Formula (I) and Component B that is a compound containing an inorganic acid or an organic acid, MxM'x'Oy (I) wherein M is at least one element selected from metal elements in the 4th period of the periodic table, M' is at least one element selected from metal elements other than the metal elements in the 4th period of the periodic table, O is oxygen, x, x' and y represent atomic ratios of the respective components, x is an integer of 1 or more, x' satisfies 0 ≤ x' ≤ 0.4 for x = 1, and y is 0 or an atomic ratio of oxygen required for satisfying the atom ratios of the respective components.
