Abstract
1497212 Capacitive force sensor ROSEMOUNT Inc 2 April 1975 [4 April 1974 (2)] 13498/75 Heading G1N A capacitive load or pressure sensor includes a housing 11 supporting a diaphragm 13 deflecting due to pressure applied to it by way of a fitting 14, the diaphragm having a cup 27 welded to it which cup supports a plate 26 having electrically conductive surface of diaphragm 13 a capacitance varying with variation of the spacing between these surfaces as the diaphragm deflects. A differential pressure transducer uses two such plates Fig. 2 (not shown). The embodiment of Fig. 3 provides free edge diaphragm construction wherein a ring wall 71 supports diaphragm 72 from a housing 70, the diaphragm mounting a capacitor plate 75 from a lug 73 and also having a button 80 on its upper surface for supporting a load.
