Claims (2)
- 주사전극 및 유지전극이 형성된 기판과 데이터전극이 형성된 별개의 기판을 대향하여 배치한 AC 형 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널로서, 복수의 서브 필드로 하나의 필드 기간을 구성하여 계조 표시를 행하는 구동방법에 있어서,상기 복수의 서브 필드는 적어도 초기화 기간, 기록 기간 및 유지 기간을 포함하며,상기 초기화 기간에서는 상기 주사전극 및 상기 유지전극에 전압을 인가하여 초기화 방전을 일으키고, 상기 기록 기간에서는 상기 초기화기간후에 상기 데이터전극에 전압을 인가하여 기록 방전을 일으키고, 상기 유지 방전기간에서는 상기 기록 기간후에 상기 주사전극 및 상기 유지전극에 전압을 인가하여 유지 방전을 일으키고,상기 복수의 서브필드 중, 적어도 하나의 서브필드의 상기 유지기간의 유지동작시에 그 서브 필드에 후속하는 서브필드의 초기화 동작의 일부를 행하도록 함으로써, 직전 서브 필드에서 표시을 행한 방전 셀에서만 상기 초기화 방전을 행하도록 제어하고, 또한 후속하는 서브 필드의 초기화 기간에 있어서 이전의 서브 필드의 유지기간 종료 후 기록기간까지의 사이에 상기 주사전극에 유지전극에 대하여 방전 개시 전압 이하인 전압으로부터 방전 개시 전압을 초과하는 전압을 향하여 완만하게 변화하는 전압을 인가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 AC형 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 적어도 하나의 서브 필드의 상기 유지 건극에 있어서, 상기 주사전극 또는 상기 유지전극에 인가하는 최후의 유지 펄스 폭을 다른 유지 펄스 폭보다 짧게 설정하는 것에 의하여, 상기 유지기간의 최후 유지 동작과 동시에 유지 방전을 정지시키기 위한 소거 동작을 행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 AC 형 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동 방법.
