Description
Claims (19)
- 상승 램프파형을 이용하여 방전셀들에 벽전하를 형성하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법에 있어서,패널의 온도 및 상기 패널의 주변온도 중 어느 하나를 측정하는 제 1 단계와;상기 제 1 단계에서 측정된 온도에 대응하여 한 프레임에 공급될 상기 상승 램프파형의 수를 제어하는 제 2 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 단계는상기 제 1 단계에서 측정된 온도가 고온미만으로 설정될 때 한 프레임에 하나의 상승 램프파형만을 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 상승 램프파형은 한 프레임에 포함된 첫번째 서브필드의 리셋기간에 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 첫번째 서브필드의 리셋기간에는 상기 상승 램프파형에 이어서 상기 상승 램프파형에 의하여 생성된 벽전하를 소거하기 위한 하강 램프파형을 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 상승램프 파형이 인가되는 서브필드를 제외한 나머지 서브필드의 리셋기간에는 상기 하강 램프파형만이 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 단계는상기 제 1 단계에서 측정된 온도가 고온이상으로 설정될 때 한 프레임에 포함된 첫번째 서브필드의 리셋기간동안 제 1 상승 램프파형을 공급하는 단계와,상기 첫번째 서브필드를 제외한 상기 한 프레임에 포함된 적어도 하나 이상의 서브필드의 리셋기간동안 제 2 상승 램프파형을 공급하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 상승 램프파형은 상기 한 프레임에 포함된 서브필드들 중 가장 높 은 계조를 가지는 서브필드 이후의 서브필드에 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 상승 램프파형의 전압값과 상기 제 2 상승 램프파형의 전압값은 동일하게 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 상승 램프파형의 전압값은 상기 제 2 상승 램프파형의 전압값보다 높게 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 상승 램프파형 및 제 2 상승 램프파형이 공급된 서브필드의 리셋기간동안 상기 제 1 상승 램프파형 및 제 2 상승 램프파형에 의하여 생성된 벽전하를 소거하기 위한 하강 램프파형을 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 상승 램프파형 및 제 2 상승 램프파형이 공급되지 않는 서브필드들의 리셋기간동안 하강 램프파형이 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플 레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항 또는 제 6 항에 있어서,상기 고온은 40℃ 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동방법.
- 주사전극들, 어드레스전극들 및 유지전극들의 교차부에 형성되는 다수의 방전셀을 구비하는 패널과;상기 주사전극들을 제어하기 위한 스캔 구동부와;상기 패널의 온도 및 상기 패널의 주변온도 중 어느 하나를 측정하기 위한 온도센서와;상기 온도센서에서 측정된 온도에 대응되어 한 프레임 동안 상기 스캔 구동부에서 상기 주사전극들로 공급되는 상승 램프파형의 수를 제어하기 위한 타이밍 콘트롤러를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 타이밍 콘트롤러는 상기 온도센서에서 측정된 온도가 고온미만으로 설정될 때 상기 한 프레임 중 첫번째 서브필드의 리셋기간에만 상기 상승 램프파형이 공급되도록 상기 스캔 구동부를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
- 제 13 항에 있어서,상기 타이밍 콘트롤러는 상기 온도센서에서 측정된 온도가 고온이상으로 설정될 때 상기 한 프레임에 포함된 첫번째 서브필드의 리셋기간동안 제 1 상승 램프파형이 공급됨과 아울러 상기 첫번째 서브필드를 제외한 적어도 하나 이상의 서브필드의 리셋기간동안 제 2 상승 램프파형이 공급되도록 상기 스캔 구동부를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
- 제 15 항에 있어서,상기 타이밍 콘트롤러는 상기 제 2 상승 램프파형이 한 프레임에 포함된 서브필드들 중 가장 높은 계조를 가지는 서브필드 이후의 서브필드에 공급되도록 상기 스캔 구동부를 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
- 제 15 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 상승 램프파형의 전압값과 상기 제 2 상승 램프파형의 전압값은 동일하게 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
- 제 15 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 상승 램프파형의 전압값은 상기 제 2 상승 램프파형의 전압값보다 높게 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
- 제 14 항 또는 제 15 항에 있어서,상기 고온은 40℃ 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 구동장치.
