Abstract
Description
本明細書において、数値範囲を示す「〜」とは、特段の定めがない限り、その前後に記載された数値を下限値及び上限値として含む意味で使用される。
ガラスマトリックスのガラスの代表的な例として、酸化物基準表示でCaOを15〜40mol%含有するSiO2−B2O3系ガラスが挙げられる。このガラスにおいて、SiO2は、38〜60mol%であり、B2O3は、13〜25mol%であるのが好ましい。

なお、本明細書において、基本的には、アルミナ粒子のアルミナ原料として用いる場合には「アルミナ粉末」と称し、原料のアルミナ粉末から製造されたアルミナの粒子の場合、あるいはガラスセラミック体に分散されているアルミナの場合、あるいはアルミナの一つ一つの特徴を述べる場合には、「アルミナ粒子」と称するが、区別が困難な場合には、アルミナ粒子、あるいはアルミナ粉末と称している場合がある。
発光装置20は、少なくとも一部がガラスセラミックス体10からなる発光素子搭載用基板21を有する。以下、発光素子搭載用基板を単に基板と記す。基板21は、例えば、2個の発光素子22が電気的に直列に接続されるように搭載されるものである。基板21には、2個の発光素子22が搭載され、ボンディングワイヤ23によって電気的に直列に接続されるとともに、これら発光素子22とボンディングワイヤ23とを覆うように封止層24が設けられて発光装置20とされる。
表2に示す割合のガラスとなるように各原料を配合、混合して原料混合物とし、この原料混合物を白金ルツボに入れて1200〜1500℃で60分間溶融後、溶融物を流し出し冷却した。そして、冷却物をアルミナ製ボールミルにより水を溶媒として10〜60時間粉砕し、分級して各組成のガラス粉末G1〜G5を得た
上記した基板について、JIS C2141に準拠する3点曲げ強さ試験を行った。すなわち、基板の一辺を2点で支持し、これと対向する辺における上記2点の中間位置に徐々に加重を加えて、基板に切断が生じたときの荷重を測定し、これに基づいて3点曲げ強度(MPa)を算出した。当該曲げ強度を30点(サンプル数)測定して平均値(平均曲げ強度)を求めた。結果を表3に示す。
上記した基板について、JIS R 2205に準拠する吸水率測定を行った。すなわち、基板の乾燥質量、真空法による飽水基板の質量を測定し、これらに基づいて吸水率を算出した。結果を表3に示す。
上記した基板を厚さ方向、かつドクターブレードの成形方向と略平行な方向に切断し、その断面を鏡面研磨した。走査型顕微鏡(SEM)、画像解析装置を用いて、断面100μm2における個々の扁平アルミナ粒子の基板面方向および基板厚さ方向の長さを測定し、それらを平均して扁平アルミナ粒子の基板面方向の平均長さ、基板厚さ方向の平均長さを求めた。また、同断面における扁平アルミナ粒子の面積を測定し、単位面積当たりの扁平アルミナ粒子の面積割合を求めた。
まず、平均粒子径が2.5μm程度で粒度分布が狭く球状の形状を有する導電性粉末(大研化学工業社製)およびエチルセルロースを質量比85:15の割合で調合し、固形分が85質量%となるように溶剤(αテレピネオール)に分散した後、磁器乳鉢中で1時間混練を行い、さらに三本ロールにて3回分散を行って銀ペーストを作製した。

Claims (13)
- ガラスマトリックス中にアルミナ粒子が分散されたガラスセラミックス体であって、
前記ガラスマトリックスが結晶化しておらず、かつ前記分散されたアルミナ粒子で構成されるセラミックス部分がα−アルミナ型の結晶構造を有するとともにα−アルミナ型以外の結晶構造を有することを特徴とするガラスセラミックス体。 - 前記アルミナ粒子は扁平状であって、互いの厚さ方向が略同一方向となるように前記ガラスマトリックス中に分散されている請求項1に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスセラミックス体の厚さ方向に沿った断面において、前記扁平状のアルミナ粒子の扁平方向の平均長さが2〜10μm、かつ前記扁平状のアルミナ粒子の厚さ方向の平均長さが0.05〜0.5μmである請求項2に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスセラミックス体の厚さ方向に沿った断面において、単位面積に占める前記扁平状のアルミナ粒子の面積が30〜50%である請求項2または3に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記α−アルミナ型の結晶構造と前記α−アルミナ型以外の結晶構造の割合の合計を100とした場合における前記α−アルミナ型以外の結晶構造の割合が1〜70%である請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスセラミックス体の強度が180MPa以上である請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記に載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスマトリックスは、酸化物基準表示でCaOを15〜40mol%含有するSiO2−B2O3系ガラスからなる請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスマトリックスは、ムライト結晶を実質的に含まない請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスセラミックス体中には、γ−アルミナ型の結晶構造のアルミナ粒子を実質的に含まない請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記ガラスマトリックス中に分散されたアルミナ粒子で構成されるセラミックス部分がα−アルミナ型の結晶構造を有するとともに、さらにδ−アルミナ型、θ−アルミナ型、η−アルミナ型、χ−アルミナ型、およびκ−アルミナ型からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の結晶構造を有する請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 前記α−アルミナ型以外の結晶構造が、θ−アルミナ型の結晶構造である請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体。
- 発光素子を搭載するための発光素子搭載用基板であって、
請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載のガラスセラミックス体を有することを特徴とする発光素子搭載用基板。 - 請求項12に記載の発光素子搭載用基板と、
前記発光素子搭載用基板に搭載された発光素子と
を有することを特徴とする発光装置。
