PURPOSE:To extend noise reducing effect over an intermediate frequency band by amplitude-limiting an output signal, extracted by a high frequency band component extracting means, by inputting it to a second amplitude limiting means, and afterward, subtracting the output signal of it from an input video signal by feeding back it. CONSTITUTION:A noise component, extracted by passing through a HPF 1 and a limiter 7, is subtracted from the input video signal Si by negative-feeding back the output of the HPF 1 to an input side through the limiter 7. Then, the high frequency band component Sc1, the noise component of which has been reduced to some extent, is subtracted from the input video signal Si, and a low frequency band component Sb1 is extracted. Namely, the noise reducing effect, furnished concurrently with both two operations of noise reducing operation by feedback and the noise reducing operation by feedforward, can be obtained.
