Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily discriminate the occurrence of a fault of a receiver itself even in the wait state of a received signal by supplying a noise of a reception frequency band to the input side of the receiver when there is no arrival received signal, and monitoring the output state. CONSTITUTION:When the absence of an arrival received signal is detected by a monitoring circuit 15, a control circuit 16 drives a repetitive noise generating circuit 17 and a switch circuit 14 for a short time. The noise generating circuit 17 supplies a noise of a reception frequency band to the input side of a receiver through the closed switch circuit 14. This noise input is supplied to a demodulator 7 through a high frequency amplifier 1, a frequency converter 3, an amplifier 4, a filter 5, and an intermediate frequency amplifier 6. Then, a monitoring circuit 15 detects the noise from the intermediate stage of the intermediate frequency amplifier 6 and monitors its level to check the presence of a fault between the high frequency amplifier 1 and intermediate frequency amplifier 6 even in a reception wait state.
