Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformize thickness of a strip and to improve the surface characteristic by measuring pouring velocity from a tundish with on-line, adjusting position of stopper rod of molten metal holding device based on deviation of the measured value to the aimed value and controlling molten metal supplying rate. CONSTITUTION:A melting furnace 16 fitting the stopper rod 14, which drives by DC motor in the molten metal holding device 16, is used and by ascending the stopper rod 14, the molten metal is supplied into the tundish 12 fitting pouring nozzle 22. Weight signals from load-cells 20, 21 fitted on the melting furnace 16 and the tundish 12 are transmitted to a microprocessor of a control device 24 and current of the DC motor is controlled so that the pouring rate from the tundish comes to the aimed value according to prestored program, to control position of the stopper rod. By this method, the accurate pouring rate control can be executed and the plate thickness becomes uniform and also the surface characteristic can be improved.
