Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately control pouring quantity of relatively minute flow rate by providing a molten metal quantity measuring device in a holding device and a stopper rod operational condition checking device based on the result. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal measuring device in the tundish, measuring the molten metal 10 quantity in the tundish 12 and the stopper rod driving mechanism, continuously ascending/descending the stopper rod 14 are combined. By this constitution, the opening of the stopper rod is constituted by continuously controlling, so that the molten metal 10 quantity in the tundish 12 becomes the aimed value based on the measured result of the molten metal measuring device in the tundish. In this result, in the pouring of the molten metal having relatively minute flow, the pouring control having high accuracy can be executed and the quantity of the product is made to uniform and the surface characteristic, etc., is improved.
