Abstract

PURPOSE:To set stable constant-current output at high precision, by controlling a monitor result that is the square of the peak value of the primary side current of a pulse transformer, and a monitor result in proportion to secondary side output voltage, so that a specified proportional relation may be kept between the results. CONSTITUTION:A constant-current output type DC-DC converter is composed of a pulse transformer 11, rectifying and smoothing circuits 12, 15, a voltage comparator 13, and a pulse modulation circuit 14, and current is fed to a load. Besides, a momentary current monitor circuit 20 and a peak current detecting and squaring circuit 30 are arranged. Then, the input of the power of constant voltage to a primary side is provided, and by turning a switching element SW conductive, the primary side current peak value of the pulse transformer 11 is monitored, and the value is squared in proportion to it to generate the output. Besides, secondary side output voltage is monitored, and the change-over action of the switching element SW is controlled so that a specified proportional relation may be kept between both the monitor results. As a result, from the secondary side, the power of constantcurrent can be fed to the load side.
