Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable stabilized and highly efficient operation of an air conditioner even when outdoor temperature is high, by controlling the rate of an outdoor blower at certain periodic intervals based on the combination of the blowout temperature of an indoor unit and the evaporation temperature of an outdoor heat exchanger during the heating operation.
CONSTITUTION: The indoor unit 1 comprises a heat exchanger 3, a pressure reducing device 4 and a blower 5, and the outdoor unit 2 comprises a compressor 6, the heat exchanger 7, a passage change-over valve 8 and a blower 9, and the outdoor unit 2 and the indoor unit 1 are connected by refrigerant pipings 10, 11. A blowout temperature sensor 12 is provided to an blowout outlet of the indoor unit 1, and an evaporation temperature sensor 13 is provided to the heat exchanger 7 of the outdoor unit 2, and the outputs of the sensors 12, 13 are inputted into a microcomputer 17. Based on the combination of the outputs of the sensors 12, 13, the speed of revolution of the outdoor blower 9 is controlled through a driving circuit 18 at certain periodic intervals in several steps.
