Abstract
PURPOSE:To inexpensively obtain optical elements of sufficiently low reflectivities by disposing plural holes or protrusions of prescribed radii two-dimensioally irregularly at the depth or height of roughly 1/4 wavelength on the surface of an optical element. CONSTITUTION:For example, plural holes 2 or protrusions 4 of a circular columnar shape having constant depth or constant height D and roughly a constant radius R are irregularly arranged by leaving an average distance A on the surface of a blank body 1 consisting of, for example, transparent plastics, thereby forming an optical element 3A or 3B. The value of D is set at 1/4 the wavelength of light, and the radius R is so selected as to satisfy the following equation. In the case of the porous structure element 3A, 1-pi(R/A)<2>=x, and in the case of the multicolumnar structure element, pi(R/A)<2>=x, where (x) is the ratio at which the flat plastics occupy space. Also, (x) is x=(n-no)/(np-no), where no and np are so selected as to satisfy the refractive indexes of air and plastics. Thereby, the optical element of sufficiently low reflectivities is obtained inexpensively.
