Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable city gas which consists of mainly LNG, LPG and hydrogen to be clearly identified and detected even if they are in a low concentration, by adapting the fact that an output property to various kinds of gases differs with an element temperature of a gas detecting element which consists of mainly a metalic oxide semiconductor. CONSTITUTION:Gas to be measured is brought into contact with a detecting element of a gas detecting mechanism 1 through installation of a suction pump 5 for gas to be measured, and with the heater of the mechanism 1 actuated, a gas detecting element 2 is brought to a given temperature. According to an instruction from a process control circuit 7, a comparision circuit 10 compares a signal voltage from a hold circuit 8 for storing the output signal voltage from the mechanism 1 with a reference voltage to discriminate the pressure of gas. A comparision circuit 12 compares a voltage from an attenuating circuit 11 for attenuating the signal voltage from the circuit 8 with the voltage signal from the mechanism 1, and a comparision circuit 14 compares a voltage from an attenuating circuit 13 for attenuating the signal voltage the mechanism 1 with the signal volatge from the circuit 8. The outputs of the comparison circuits 10, 12, and 13 are computed (15) to display the computing results in a display circuit 16.
