Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure continuously and correctly the amount of benzopyrene, by measuring the particle diameter distribution of dust by using a particle counter of light scattering system, counting the density and weight of the numbers and computing the amount corresponding to each and then taking the average. CONSTITUTION:When an output signal is outputted from a dust detector 1 of light scattering system, particle diameter distribution is obtained at a signal processing circuit part 2, and the volume and weight of the measuring objective particle are counted at a counting circuit 3. The above-mentioned particle diameter distribution and the result counted at the counting circuit 3 are displayed at display parts 5 and 6. As a proportional coefficient between the density or weight of all the number of particles and the amount of benzopyrene is previously known, the amount of benzopyrene about each of them is computed at a counting circuit 4. The amount of benzopyrene in the dust floating in the atmosphere is used by taking the average of these two in order to raise accuracy, and its result is displayed digitally at a display part 7.
