Abstract

PURPOSE:To expand or contract an input image in a short time by storing paramaters that show the sizes of the input picture and an output picture, and by erasing or overlapping picture data on the basis of storage contents. CONSTITUTION:Parameters that show the sizes of an input and an output pictures are stored in a memory 10. A memory 11, an arithmetic control circuit 14, a gate 15, and an arithmetic circuit 16 are controlled by a sequence signal 102 and a clock signal 103 and the picture parameters are increased or decreased to determine how much the data of the input image is erased or overlapped longitudinally and laterally respectively. On the basis of the result obtained as mentioned above and an expansion/contracting signal 104, the arithmetic control circuit 14 outputs an expansion/contraction line signal 116, an input data clock 117, and an output data clock 118.
