Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the unstable color of a fluorescent surface, which is caused when neodymium glass is used as a face plate glass, by using zinc sulfide phosphor activated with copper and aluminum (ZnS:Cu, Al) as a green G color emitting phosphor. CONSTITUTION:When neodymium glass is used as the face plate glass of a fluorescent screen, the change of the color of the above fluorescent screen can be almost completely removed by reducing an appropriate amount of light which has wavelengths of 470-480nm and is contained in the reflected external light. In order to attain this purpose, zinc sulfide phosphor activated with copper and aluminum (ZnS:Cu, Al) is used as a green G color emitting phosphor element so as to obtain a fluorescent screen with stable color. The amount of copper (Cu) used as an activator for the ZnS:Cu, Al phosphor is preferred to be above 5X10<-5>g per 1g zinc sulfide base.
