Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the voltage which is applied to a load, by forming a high efficiency switching regulator into a preregulator and dividing the output of a boosting transformer into multiple stages to connect one of these stages to a series control circuit. CONSTITUTION:A switching regulator 2 is connected to a rectifying/smoothing circuit 1, and the output of the regulator 2 is fed back to control the regulator 2. Thus the input voltage of a boosting transformer 3 is kept at a constant level. The secondary side of the transformer 3 is formed into a multistage output, and high voltage rectifying/smoothing circuits 4a and 4b are connected to each output. Then a series voltage controlling circuit 6 is connected to the circuit 4b to supply the high voltage to a load 5. The voltage applied to the load 5 is fed back and controlled by the circuit 6.
