Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance, etc., by forming a set film on the surface of a disk of synthetic resin by using a composition of a monomer having >=3 (meth)acryloyloxy groups, a monomer blend having one or two of said groups, and a monomer provided with specific electricity control characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A photopolymerizing catalyst is added to a composition obtained by mixing 0.5-20pts.wt. either of both of sulfonic acid monomer shown by formulaI[where R1 is H or CH3, Y is -CONH or -COOH, and (l), (m), (n), and (r) are 0-5]and phosphate monomer expressed by formula II (where R2 is the same as R1; R3 is H or a group expressed by formula III; R4 is the same as R1; (m) and (n) are 1-15), and 1-20pts.wt. amine compound expressed by formula IV (where R5 and R6 are H, 1-15C alkyl, or CH2CH2OH) with a mixture of a 30-90pts.wt. monomer which has >=3 (meth) acryloyloxy groups, such as trimethylol propane (meth)acrylate, etc. and a 10-70pts.wt. monomer having one or two of said groups. Then, the obtained material is applied on a disk of synthetic resin and polymerized to obtain a base plate for a video disk which has improved wear resistance, smoothness, strength of adhesion to the disk, etc.
