Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain titled dense sintered body with high hardness, superior wearing resistance, etc. by adding mixed powder of ≥1 kind of nitride such as Ti or Zr nitride, mutual solid soln. powder or mutual compound powder thereof, AlN powder, mixed powder of Al, Fe, etc., and mutual compound powder thereof to cubic system BN powder and by sintering them.
CONSTITUTION: To 30W70vol% cubic system BN powder having ≤20μm average grain size are added 69W15vol% mixed powder of ≥1 kind of nitride ceramics such as Ti, Zr, Hf, Ta or Si nitride, mutual solid soln. powder or mutual compound powder thereof, and AlN powder as a matrix and 1W15vol% mixed powder of one or more among Al, Fe, etc. and mutual compound powder thereof. This mixed powder is packed into a reactor and sintered at about 1,300W 1,500°C under 40W60kbar to manufacture the desired sintered body of cubic system BN.
