Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the rate of consumed air and to improve the combustion quality by a method wherein a plurality of rows of nozzles are provided in the fuel injection valve, the row on the up stream part is larger than that on the down stream part in diameter and in the distance of the nozzle part to the combustion chamber wall.
CONSTITUTION: On the nozzle part 1 of the fuel injection valve 5, the row of nozzles 6 of large diameter and another row of nozzles 7 of small diameter are bored respectively on the up stream part and on the down stream part. Moreover, the distance up to the combustion chamber wall 10 is designed to be larger in the fuel injection angle 9 of the row of small diameter nozzles 7 than in the fuel injection angle 8 of the row of large diameter nozzles 6 so that the fuel and the air injected into the combustion chamber can be mixed uniformly in whole.
