Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve exchanging efficiency in the heat exchanger which exchanges not only heat but humidity between a high temperature gas and a low temperature one by a method wherein heat transfer partitions are let to contain a deliquescent material and corrugated plates are provided between the partitions.
CONSTITUTION: The total heat type heat exchanger 13 used for an air-conditioning fan or the like has a rectangular shape in which the first and second air passages 14, 15 are crossed. For example, while an indoor and an outdoor air run through this heat exchanger 13, heat and humidity are exchanged between both of them. Each of heat exchanging elements 20 the heat exchanger is made up of is made by fixing a corrugated material 19 made from water-proof material such as vinyl chloride film to one side of a porous material such as a paper heat-transfer partition 18. Then elements 20 are obtained when they are dipped in a water solution of deliquescent material such as litium chloride etc. and then the material is impregnated in the partitions 18.
