Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase control information and user information without increasing the number of control bits, by providing a flag bit in one word for PCM modulation of an autio signal. CONSTITUTION:Words are arranged longitudinally and the bit constitution of each word is shown laterally. A digital signal of sampled information uses bits 1-20 and control information or word user information uses bits 21-28; and bit 29 is assigned to a block flag bit and bits 30-32 show a word sink information. Block flag bits up to a required word including the 1st word are set to ''1'' and bits 21-28 show control information. Then, block flag bits of the following word are set to ''0'' and bits 21-28 show user information.
