Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a uniform developer layer by providing at least a pair of mutually adjacent magnetic poles of the same polarity on a magnet roll and disposing a nonmagnetic cleaning blade in proximity to the circumferential surface of a non- magnetic sleeve within the area effected by the magnetic-force of magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:A magnet roll 8 has a developing magnetic pole S1 of the same polarity as that of the developer T opposing to the circumferential surface of a photosensitive drum 1, a cut magnetic pole N1 of the polarity differing from that of the magnetic pole S1 disposed with a deviation of about 90 deg. in phase on both sides thereof, a developer recovering magnetic pole N2 of the same polarity as that of said magnetic pole N1, and at least a pair of magnetic poles S2, S3 of the same polarity as that of the magnetic pole S1 disposed in proximity to each other between both magnetic poles N1 and N2, on the circumferential edge thereof. A nonmagnetic blade 11 made of a stainless steel plate is mounted within an inclined box part 6 within the magnetism acting range of the magnetic poles S2, S3 of the same polarity, that is, opposing approximately to one magnetic pole S3 and with its leading end edge in proximity to the circumferential surface of the sleeve 9. According to these disposition, the uniform one-component magnetic developer layer is formed on the circumferential surface of the sleeve.
