Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it easy to increase track density by positioning a data head at an optional track and by recording information on a data surface via the data head. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic media 3a, 3b and 3c and spindle 8 are combined together previously and set rotatably via velt 28 by being fitted with pulley 27. Carriage 29 has similar structure to that of a disk device and operates by coupling with coupler 30. Coupler 30, fitted with a movement driver, moves servo information recording head 31 and its head arm 32 coupled with carriage 29 at an optional pitch to record head positioning information of servo surface while moving them over tracks by one track at a time.
