Abstract

PURPOSE:To multiplex a line and eliminate side tone completely by compressing the time base of sound signals, etc., and performing the multiple use of a subscriber's line and performing transmission and receiving alternately. CONSTITUTION:Terminals 24a-24m have a signal time base compressing means respectively and are equipped with a means, which detects control signals corresponding to its own channel from control signals transmitted from synchronizing signal transmission circuit 22, respectively and are operated synchronously with control signals. A multiplex frame constitution is adopted for time base-compressed sound signals, etc., and they are sent to the exchanged side through subscriber's line 19 and are separated into analogue signals and digital signals by circuit 20. Digital signals are sent to exchange 23 as they are, and analogue signals have the time base expanded by circuit 21 and are expanded for respective channels and are transmitted to exchange 23. Next, the operation opposite to the above is performed for receiving in the terminal side. Then, in respect to a channel assigned to each terminal, the first half and the latter half are used for transmission and receiving respectively.
