Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve heat exchange efficiency and the quality of clinkers by combining a grate type quenching chamber and a filling layer type cooling tower and providing a fractionation and crushing treatment chamber therebetween.
CONSTITUTION: A movable grate 5 is provided on the bottom face of aquencking chamber 4 connected to directly under a burner 1, a cement baking furnace such as rotary kiln, and an outlet hood 3, and driven by a grate driving device 6. Clinkers are thrusted in a cooling chamber-hopper 7 by a thrust -in fan 8 and quenched to about 900°C by the air passing upward through a number of holes of said movable grate 5. Quenched clinkers drop into a cooling tower 13, form a filling layer due to the air from said thrust-in for and is sufficiently cooled down through effecient convection heat-exchanger. Large lumps of kiln coating for example are crushed in a fractionation and crushing treatment chamber 12.
