Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat efficiently waste water by feeding waste water into a treating tank filling fine particles adhered with microorganisms to biochemically treat the waste water through fine particle moving layer to thereby reduce the treating time and area with low cost.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water pretreated in sand first settling basins, etc. is introduced through a tube 3 into a treating tower 1. A pump 8 is operated to circulate particles adhered with microorganism from top through feed tube 5, a cyclone 6, and tubes 7, 4 again to the tower 1. Since the waste water from the tubes 4, 3 is flown tangentially into the tower 1 and out along a conical member 2 to thereby sufficiently mix for biochemical treatment via the microorganisms adhered to the particles. The water thus treated and particles adhered with sludge onto the surfaces thereof are introduced through the tube 5 into the cyclone 6. The particles are again returned to the tower 1, and the residue is to next step.
