Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the efficiency of intake in a high load range, by reducing the overlap of a first intake valve connected to a primary in a carbureter, and by enlarging the overlap of a second intake valve connected to a secondary.
CONSTITUTION: Two intake ports 8, 9 opening in a combustion chamber 4 are mounted to a cylinder head 2, and the first intake port 8 is connected to a primary 6 in a carbureter 5 and the second intake port 9 to a secondary 7 respectively through separate air supply passages 10, 11. The time of the opening of a first intake valve 12 is brought near to the time of the closing of exhaust valve mounted to the cylinder head 2, and an overlap section is reduced; the time of the opening of a second intake valve 13 is parted from the time of the closing of the exhaust valve, and the overlap section is enlarged.
