Description
以下、図面を参照して、本発明の実施形態を詳細に説明する。
第1の実施形態では、ポンプ204を複数の液晶表示素子108、109、110に対して共通とすることで、冷却装置の小型化を達成していた。しかし、ポンプ204自体が小型化できれば、図6に示すように液晶表示素子108、109、110ごとにそれぞれ個別のポンプ204を設けてもよい。

Claims (6)
- 互いに異なる波長の光を変調する複数の光変調素子と、
前記複数の光変調素子のそれぞれに対応して設けられ、冷媒を循環させる複数の配管と、
前記複数の配管に接続され、冷媒を介して前記複数の光変調素子からの熱を放熱する放熱部材と、
前記放熱部材に対向して配置された冷却ファンを備え、
前記放熱部材は、前記複数の光変調素子にそれぞれ対応する複数の放熱領域を有し、
前記複数の放熱領域のうち第1の発熱量の光変調素子に対応する前記放熱部材の放熱領域は、前記第1の発熱量よりも小さい第2の発熱量の光変調素子に対応する前記放熱部材の放熱領域よりも広く、
前記冷却ファンは、前記複数の光変調素子のうち発熱量が最も小さい光変調素子に対応する放熱領域に前記冷却ファンの羽根の回転中心が対向するように配置されていることを特徴とする投射型表示装置。 - 前記放熱部材の前記複数の放熱領域は、前記複数の光変調素子のそれぞれの発熱量が大きいほど、面積が広いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の投射型表示装置。
- 前記放熱部材は、前記複数の光変調素子ごとに設けられた冷媒の流路を備えたラジエータであることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の投射型表示装置。
- 前記複数の配管が接続され、冷媒を循環させるポンプをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の投射型表示装置。
- 前記ポンプは、前記複数の光変調素子のそれぞれに設けられていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の投射型表示装置。
- 前記複数の光変調素子は、液晶表示素子であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の投射型表示装置。
