Description
本発明の塗料組成物のアクリル樹脂(A)は、水酸基含有不飽和モノマー及びその他の不飽和モノマーを常法により共重合せしめることによって製造することができる。
メラミン樹脂(B)としては、公知の塗料組成物で使用されるものを使用することができる。メラミン樹脂としては、例えば、メラミンとアルデヒドとの反応によって得られる公知の部分もしくは完全メチロール化メラミン樹脂をあげることができる。
シリカ粒子(C)としては、乾式シリカ、湿式シリカ等を挙げることができる。散乱効果が高く光沢値の調整範囲が広くなること等から乾式シリカを好適に使用することができる。また、塗料組成物中への分散性の観点から、有機化合物で表面修飾した乾式シリカを好適に使用することができる。
本発明の塗料組成物において、ポリオレフィンワックス(D)は塗膜にスリップ性を付与することにより、耐摩耗性を向上させるために使用されるものである。
本発明の塗料組成物において、クリヤ塗膜の硬化性向上及び付着性向上の観点から、リン酸基含有化合物(E)を必要に応じて使用することができる。
本発明の塗料組成物を適用し得る被塗物はアルミニウム部材であれば特に限定されるものではなく、例えば、乗用車、トラック、ワゴン車、バス、オートバイ等の自動車のアルミニウム部材;携帯電話、オーディオ機器等の家庭電気製品のアルミニウム部材等を挙げることができ、なかでも、自動車のアルミニウム部材が好ましい。なかでも特に、自動車用チューブやタイヤなどの取付け部材である自動車用アルミニウムホイールが好ましい。
工程(1)
本工程では、被塗物上に、下塗塗料(X)を塗装して着色塗膜が形成せしめられる。
上記被塗物に塗装される下塗塗料(X)としては、熱硬化性樹脂成分を含有し、さらに必要に応じて、有機溶剤等の溶媒、着色顔料、体質顔料、光輝性顔料、表面調整剤、沈降防止剤等を配合してなる液状塗料を使用することができる。本発明の複層塗膜形成方法の下塗塗料としては、具体的には例えば、プライマー塗料、カラーベース塗料、エッジクリヤ塗料等を挙げることができる。
工程(1)で下塗塗料により形成された下塗塗膜上には、次いで、クリヤ塗料(Y)が塗装される。クリヤ塗料(Y)としては、前記の本発明の塗料組成物(本塗料)が塗装される。
以上に述べた如くして形成される下塗塗膜及びクリヤ塗膜の2層の塗膜からなる複層塗膜は、通常の塗膜の加熱硬化手段により、例えば、熱風加熱、赤外線加熱、高周波加熱等により、約120〜約160℃、好ましくは約125〜約140℃の温度で約20〜40分間程度加熱して一度に硬化させることができる。
製造例1
温度計、攪拌機、冷却管及び水分離器を備えたガラス製4ツ口フラスコにスワゾール1000(丸善石油化学製)を30部仕込み、窒素ガスを通気させつつ撹拌しながら150℃まで昇温した後、同温度を保持した。その後、スチレン20部、イソボルニルアクリレート13部、n−ブチルアクリレート12部、2−エチルヘキシルアクリレート20部、2−ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート32.5部、アクリル酸2.5部及びジターシャリアミルパーオキサイド3部の混合物を150℃に保ちながら滴下ポンプを利用して4時間かけて一定速度で滴下した。滴下終了後150℃で1時間保ち、撹拌を続けた。その後冷却し、スワゾール1000 8部及びn−ブタノール15部の混合溶剤で希釈し、固形分65%のアクリル樹脂(A1)溶液を得た。得られたアクリル樹脂(A1)は重量平均分子量10000、水酸基価140mgKOH/g、酸価20mgKOH/g、ガラス転移温度14℃及び溶解性パラメーター9.1であった。
下記表1に示す配合割合の各単量体成分を用いる以外、製造例1と同様にして合成することにより、各アクリル樹脂(A2)〜(A4)の溶液を得た。単量体組成と併せ、得られた各アクリル樹脂(A1)〜(A4)の重量平均分子量、水酸基価、酸価、ガラス転移温度及び溶解度パラメーターを下記表1に示す。
実施例1
製造例1で得たアクリル樹脂(A1)溶液108部(固形分70部)、メラミン樹脂(B1)(ブチルエーテル化メラミン樹脂、重量平均分子量4000、有効成分50%)60部、シリカ粒子(C1)(注2)10部、ポリオレフィンワックス(D1)(注7)10部、及びBYK−300(商品名、ビックケミー社製、表面調整剤、有効成分52%)0.2部を均一に混合し、さらに、スワゾール1000(商品名、シェルケミカルズジャパン社製、芳香族炭化水素系溶剤)を加えて、20℃におけるフォードカップNo.4による粘度が22秒のクリヤ塗料(Y−1)を得た。
実施例1と同様にして、下記表2に示した塗料配合にて、20℃におけるフォードカップNo.4による粘度が22秒の各クリヤ塗料(Y−2)〜(Y−24)得た。

(注14)ポリオレフィンワックス(D8):DYNEON TF9205(ポリテトラフルオロエチレンワックス、平均粒子径7.5〜9.5μm、融点325℃、DYNEON社製)
アルミ鋳造材(AC4C)にジルコニウム系化成処理(日本パーカライジングCT−3796)を行い、カラーベースとしてマジクロンAL−2500黒(アクリルメラミン系塗料、関西ペイント社製)を膜厚15μmとなるように塗装し、室温で2分間経過した後、ついで上記実施例及び比較例で得た各クリヤ塗料組成物を膜厚30μmとなるように塗装して、140℃で20分間キープの加熱条件で硬化させることにより、各試験板を得た。
摩擦試験機(スガ試験機株式会社製)を用いて、試験液なしで、荷重1kg、ガーゼ5枚重ね、200回往復条件で磨耗試験を行った。試験前後での試験板の艶を目視で確認し、艶の変化の程度により以下の評価基準で評価した。合格レベルは○以上である。
◎:殆ど変化が認められない
○:若干の変化が認められる
△:明らかな変化が認められる
×:著しい変化が認められる
耐食性
試験板にカットを入れ、JIS Z2371に従い、CASS試験を行い、240時間試験後の錆幅により以下の基準で評価を行った。合格レベルは○以上である。
◎:錆幅が1.5mm以下
○:錆幅が1.5mmを超え3mm以下
△:錆幅が3mmを超え5mm以下
×:錆幅が5mm超
塗膜外観
塗装した試験板を目視で観察し、以下の評価基準で評価した。合格レベルは○以上である。
◎:全体的に均一な艶消し塗膜が得られている
○:若干のつやムラが認められる
△:明らかなつやムラが認められる
×:ブツ等の塗面異常がある又は艶消しの程度が不十分である
Claims (3)
- 水酸基価が100〜200mgKOH/gであるアクリル樹脂(A)、メラミン樹脂(B)、平均粒子径が1.0〜15μmであるシリカ粒子(C)、及び平均粒子径が10〜40μmでかつ融点が145℃〜180℃であるポリオレフィンワックス(D)を含有し、アクリル樹脂(A)及びメラミン樹脂(B)の固形分総量に対して、シリカ粒子(C)を5〜20質量%、ポリオレフィンワックス(D)を3〜15質量%含有することを特徴とするアルミニウム部材用艶消しクリヤ塗料組成物。
- 被塗物に、下記の工程(1)〜(3)、工程(1):下塗塗料(X)を塗装して下塗塗膜を形成する工程、工程(2):前記工程(1)で形成された下塗塗膜上に、請求項1に記載の塗料組成物をクリヤ塗料組成物(Y)として塗装してクリヤ塗膜を形成する工程、及び工程(3):前記工程(1)及び(2)で形成された下塗塗膜及びクリヤ塗膜を一度に加熱硬化する工程、を順次行う複層塗膜形成方法。
- 請求項1に記載の塗料組成物の塗膜を有する物品。
