Description
Arは、置換もしくは無置換のフェナントリル(Phenanthryl)基以外の置換もしくは無置換の環形成炭素数6〜30のアリール(aryl)基であり、
R1〜R18は、互いに独立して、水素、重水素、シアノ(cyano)基、フッ素基、置換もしくは無置換の炭素数1〜10のアルキル(alkyl)基、または、置換もしくは無置換の環形成炭素数6〜30のアリール基である。
本発明者は、有機電界発光素子の発光寿命を向上させる有機電界発光素子用材料について鋭意検討した結果、本実施形態に係る有機電界発光素子用材料に想到した。この有機電界発光素子用材料は、特に正孔輸送材料として用いた場合に、有機電界発光素子の発光寿命を向上させることができる。そこで、まず、本実施形態に係る有機電界発光素子用材料の構成について説明する。
Arは、置換もしくは無置換のフェナントリル基以外の置換もしくは無置換の環形成炭素数6〜30のアリール基であり、
R1〜R18は、互いに独立して、水素、重水素、シアノ基、フッ素基、置換もしくは無置換の炭素数1〜10のアルキル基、または、置換もしくは無置換の環形成炭素数6〜30のアリール基である。
次に、図1を参照しながら、本実施形態に係る有機電界発光素子用材料を利用した有機電界発光素子について、簡単に説明する。図1は、本発明の実施形態に係る有機電界発光素子の一例を示す概略断面図である。
まず、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体の合成方法について、上記化合物1、4、6、7、34の合成方法を例示して具体的に説明する。なお、以下に述べる合成方法はあくまでも一例であって、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体の合成方法が下記の例に限定されるものではない。
以下の反応式(4)によって、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体である化合物1を合成した。
以下の反応式(5)によって、本実施形態に係るアミン誘導体である化合物4を合成した。
1H−NMR測定(300MHz,CDCl3[ppm])で測定された化合物4のケミカルシフト量は、8.78(d,1H,J=8.3Hz),8.17(dd,1H,J=1.0,8.2Hz),8.03(m,1H),7.89(m,1H),7.80−7.86(3H),7.78(s,1H),7.77(d,1H,J=8.4Hz),7.56−7.72(3H),7.27−7.56(13H),7.20(dd,1H,J=2.0,8.4Hz)であった。
以下の反応式(6)によって、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体である化合物6を合成した。具体的には、上記反応式(5)において、化合物54のブロモフェニルナフタレンに替えて、反応式(6)の化合物64であるブロモターフェニル(bromoterphenyl)を用いて反応させた以外は、反応式(5)と同様である。なお、化合物6の同定は、化合物1、4と同様にFAB−MS測定により得られた分子量(623)が分子式C44H29NOから計算される値と一致したことによって行った。
以下の反応式(7)によって、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体である化合物7を合成した。具体的には、上記反応式(5)において、化合物54のブロモフェニルナフタレンに替えて、反応式(7)の化合物74のブロモターフェニルを用いて反応させた以外は、反応式(5)と同様である。なお、化合物7の同定は、化合物1、4と同様にFAB−MS測定により得られた分子量(623)が分子式C44H29NOから計算される値と一致したことによって行った。
以下の反応式(8)によって、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体である化合物34を合成した。具体的には、上記反応式(5)において、化合物54のブロモフェニルナフタレンに替えて、反応式(8)の化合物84を用いて反応させた以外は、反応式(5)と同様である。なお、化合物34の同定は、化合物1、4と同様にFAB−MS測定により得られた分子量(751)が分子式C57H37NOから計算される値と一致したことによって行った。
続いて、真空蒸着法を用いて、以下の手順にて本実施形態に係るアミン誘導体を正孔輸送材料として含む有機電界発光素子を作製し、評価した。
まず、あらかじめパターニング(patterning)して洗浄処理を施したITO−ガラス基板に、紫外線およびオゾン(O3)による表面処理を行った。なお、ITO−ガラス基板におけるITO膜(第1電極)の膜厚は、150nmであった。表面処理後、基板を洗浄し、洗浄済基板を有機層成膜用蒸着機に投入し、10−4〜10−5Paの真空度にて、正孔注入層、正孔輸送層(HTL)、発光層、および電子輸送層を順に蒸着した。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を化合物4にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で有機電界発光素子を作製した。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を化合物6にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で有機電界発光素子を作製した。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を化合物7にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で有機電界発光素子を作製した。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を化合物34にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で有機電界発光素子を作製した。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を下記の比較化合物C1にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、有機電界発光素子を作製した。なお、比較化合物C1は、モノアミン誘導体の窒素原子とジベンゾフランがフェニレン(phenylene)基を介して結合する構造を有する点において、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体と異なる化合物である。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を下記の比較化合物C2にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、有機電界発光素子を作製した。なお、比較化合物C2は、モノアミン誘導体の窒素原子がフェナントレン基の2位の位置の炭素と結合する構造を有する点において、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体と異なる化合物である。
正孔輸送層(HTL)を下記の比較化合物C3にて形成した以外は、実施例1と同様にして、有機電界発光素子を作製した。なお、比較化合物C3は、モノアミン誘導体の窒素原子とジベンゾフランがフェニレン基を介して結合する構造を有する点において、本実施形態に係るモノアミン誘導体と異なる化合物である。
作製した実施例1〜5、比較例1〜3に係る有機電界発光素子の評価結果を以下の表1に示す。なお、作製した有機電界発光素子の発光特性の評価には、浜松ホトニクス製C9920−11輝度配向特性測定装置を用いた。また、下記の表1において、半減寿命は、1000cd/m2の光量となるように有機電界発光素子を発光させ、電流密度を一定にしたまま、有機電界発光素子の光量が半減するまでの時間(LT50)であり、実施例1〜5及び比較例1〜3についての結果は、比較例1の結果を1とした相対比として示した。

Claims (4)
- 前記Arは、アリール基で置換されたフェニル基とは異なるものである、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光素子用材料。
- 請求項1または2に記載の前記有機電界発光素子用材料を、少なくともいずれか1つ以上の層中に含む、有機電界発光素子。
- 前記有機電界発光素子用材料を、陽極と発光層との間に位置する少なくともいずれか1つ以上の層中に含む、請求項3に記載の有機電界発光素子。
